22:00 - After preening, Eha can finally go to sleep. The Jays kept it going almost all night, it looked very tiring for poor Eha..

22:13 - its almost dark, and the birds are singing..Good night Eha, and everybody

The two pests were there again

8:40 - this jay landed in the nest beside Eha and really scared ..me

13:45 Food delivery - Koit came from the cameraside, so I can only guess it was a frog ...

Koit stayed a little while, did some nestwork and both seem to talk about the jay pest, that was of course around again







Koit is a handsome guy, isn`t he?

Has anyone seen what Koit brought - which is still lying next to Eha?
Pontu shows he brought it at 14:27 and Eha took it from one side to the other. Must be something bigger, a duckling, a rabbit???

A much quieter night for Eha than yesterday, no annoying Jays...
21:07 - the mysterious food is gone..

21:55 - Good night Eha

- I have not seen Koit..

It looks like a chick. Once three years ago Koit brought a part of rabbit.

A wet day for Eha also. But she had a trip out of the nest earlier this evening. She was away for about two minutes. When she came back she was followed by the Jays (as usual )
20:04 - leaving

20:06 - returning

- and someone was returning with her..

The attack did not last long, perhapse because of the rain.
20:32 - like Metra, Eha was wet..

May 18
14:06 - Koit with a mouse. Eha took it and left the nest. She was gone for a minute, and when she came back the Jay came with her..

16:02 - Koit was in the nest when I opened the cam. Unfortunately I didn't see If he brought food.

and Eha left and Koit, after pondering for a while, settled on the egg until Eha came back. It's the first time that I have seen Koit on the egg and knew it was him!

Poor Eha having to put up with the mean jays! She is very brave in protecting her egg!

Tonight, though, it was peaceful when I looked. she was preening her white under-feathers.

May 19
13:29 - For a moment I thought that Koit came with food because Eha behaved like that. But no one came and instead Eha left the nest:

(unfortunately the sun makes it a bit difficult to see properly)
13:32 - Eha came back, she was calling..no other bird to see:

13:45 - Eha is lying in the nest, still calling now and then.

14:30 - I think Koit had a food delivery behind the tree trunk. I did not see it before it almost was too late, I was busy with Tiina and Tiits chicks..

15:51 - Koit in the nest. I did not see what he brought, or if he brought anything... blame it on the Blackstorks... ( but it looked as if Eha was eating something)

- Eha left the nest after the delivery. Not for long though, she came back at 15:53

Ca 16:25 - Eha was very upset...

- and here is the reason, the Jays started a massiv attack ..the worst I have seen so far..poor Eha




16:44 - things have calmed down, but Eha is still calling..

Eha flew away!
