I looked at the captures on Pontu, and it appears that Piret was sitting on the eggs, then Madis arrived at 14:24, and Piret flew off. Pontu did not capture a picture of the fish - only Jopie got thatjopie wrote:Nancy, maybe you can watch it at Pontu? It was very strange but it looked as if Piret brought a fish for Madis. The time is the same is the posting is.
In the normal way, the male would bring the fish to the female, so I think that Madis brought the fish to Piret.
from Pontu:
14;23 Piret sees Madis approaching
14:24 Piret is gone and Madis approaches the eggs

18.00 opened for the first time today, Piret in nest
18.10 Piret called some times after too
18.28 Madis arrived to nest, but without food. Piret complained loudly, and after having arranged some bark Madis left
19.15 Madis in nest again – didn´t see any food for Piret. Then Piret left and Madis did cover the eggs.
19.28 Piret back in nest again and Madis left.
19.43 Madis back again, and again without food – and again Piret “talked” loudly and after a couple of minuts he took off.
19.56 Piret calls
…………………….
22.20 finally Madis came with a halfeaten fish for Piret and she went outside nest to eat.
22.30 Piret arrived upstairs and after few seconds she jumped into nest, but Madis wouldn´t leave the eggs and she left after two minuts.
18.27 Piret have a need for streching her wings
22.20 finally Madis brings fish
22.30 Piret back again, but Madis will not leave the eggs

Madis arrived with a fish, but found no one there, so he started killing the fish and after a few bites flew away with it.
While I was posting Piret came back, Madis arrived with the fish and Piret flew to the cam with it (I think)

Piret back from her breakfast, starts reorganising the nest.
Edit: Soon after Madis makes room for Piret and she can be back on the eggs.

Madis on nest looking very alert, appears to be panting so must be warm there. Glad Piret has had breakfast. Good boy Madis.

Some very strange noises near to the nest, maaybe something walking through water, squelchy sound. Piret looking concerned but also looking so beautiful in the evening sun. I'm sure the sounds are nothing to worry about. (Hopefully)

That is a beautiful capture of Piret standing over eggs, stunning, and colours amazing. That feathery thing looks like an animal resting on the nest, but I'm sure it is just a feather that is trapped there. It seems to get dark earlier in Estonia but you are two hours ahead of us here in London.

Large, headless fish for Piret!
As usual Piret took it with her and Madis guards the eggs in the meantime.
