Yes, I posted this video here recently. I like ARKive very much, because in my opinion it´s one the most beautiful places in the web - very educational, very nice images and videos of endangered species.macdoum wrote:As we don't see the ospreys in flight,or fishing you can see them here;

(I think Maertha or Ump posted this link from Arrkive elsewhere on the forum)
Good

At first Piret agrees Madis can go on the eggs, but doesn't leave herself. Stands very close to Madis and starts changings sticks and nestmaterial, talking all the while. At last Madis flies away.

Picture of about 1 hour ago:
And now at 14.58 such strong wind!
Look at where the line of the trees goes:
It is almost frightening.

SPL, I have the exact same picture and wanted to make a remark about the weather causing a bad hair day. But one is enough.
Couldn't resist it though....... So...bad-hairday for Piret.

There is a Welsh website which is very informative and gives a really good insight into the lives of Ospreys. It is called the "Dyfi Osprey Project" If you google that you should find it. I have learned a lot from this site. Their resident Osprey are called Monty and Nora.

20:37 One bird on the eggs, quite strong wind
21:45 The eagle gets up for some seconds, I saw no ring: Piret
21:57 I closed the cam, nothing happened. The female sat on the eggs all the time except for some seconds and was very attentive. The wind has died down

I have seen Springwatch this evening, and have come here to ask if members can please say how much time passes from the first pipping of an egg until the chick is out of the shell. BBC asked if viewers could give them the information.
The link you gave us shows that BBC needs to look more closely at the Dyfi site!
I couldn't get the webcam to load but it must be a fantastic view of the nest when it is live.

Jo, before the cam went live the Dyfi Project posted a number of videos (and hopefully will continue) - here is one showing the area, one of the ospreys eating a fish, and two chicks hatching nearly at the same time. They may have exact timing, my impression is that it happened over the course of 24 hours or less.
