"foot" steps to be heard beneath the nest. Sometimes it sounds the same as when one of the birds nibbles at the bark. Earlier there were also steps and it makes Piret restless I think.

Madis arrives at the nest, Piret keeps on calling very loud!

Edit: after a minute of Piret calling very loud, Madis flies away.

20:11 As I switched on an osprey was calling. Now,the nest is empty. :slap:
20:14 Both ospreys on the nest.

It took them some time to decide who's turn it was to brood the eggs.
20:16 Madis flew & Piret is doing nestorations.
20:18 Piret has at last decided to sit.

..out ..

:hi: macdoum, I was watching at the same time !

20:11 Piret was on the nest - calling VERY long and loud
Image

20:12 then she took off
Image

Madis arrived about 30 seconds later
Image

20:13 but then Piret returned!
Image

20:15 Eventually Madis left
Image

Piret arranged grass on the nest and settled down on the eggs, but has been calling ever since (as macdoum said)

Maybe she is making such a fuss because in a few days she will be dependent on Madis, so he has to get her some fish when she wants him too.

Well that is totally wrong Madis! No fish, only a friendly face  Piret goes after it herself.

Piret continued to call loudly and at 18.45 Madis arrived on nest (No fish) and Piret flew off. Madis took over incubation. When I looked in again at 19.30 UK time Piret was back on eggs and looking beautiful in the sunset. She is also very calm and settled, so dont know why she was kicking up such a racket. Maybe she just wanted a comfort break.

Sorry, I have been very much out of range of the cam. today, but have these notes from the evening

17.55 Piret in nest
18.11 something moves around somewhere beneath the tree
18.15 Saw Piret Madis? She left nest
18.17 Piret back again, calling. More weak rustling sounds were heard
18.22 Madis came to nest, bringing nothing – Piret speaking loudly. Madis left after a minut again
Strange sounds again, an animal of a kind nearby?
19.02 Piret called and left nest
19.05 one landed upstairs
19.08 Piret back in nest again
19.55 Piret started to call loudly, went on and on
20.12 Piret flew off again, Madis arrived to nest and shortly after also Piret
20.15 Madis left
Some weak rustling sounds again now and then
20.48 Madis came to nest, and Piret flew off

I was offline the next hour, back again Piret was in nest and has been since - and she has been calm.

20.23 Piret looking for?????
Image

These weak rustling sounds are strange. And it seemed as jopie also mentions that Piret became restless - Piret was also looking very much down in nest, but different places.
Sometimes the sounds made me think of a mouse moving around, but..... in a tree???

Thanks for notes and pics for today.

Every time the eggs are alone I press my nose to the screen to have the best look on the eggs.
It is very difficult to see the beginning of a pip or a crack with these beautiful coloured eggs.
The possibility of a spec of dirt looking like a pip is also very present

Maybe the first reaction will come from one of the parents?

We just have to wait and be very calm about it

Madis brings a fish, but with his back to the camera. It is difficult to take a picture. Piret flies away with it. She was calling very enthousiastic when Madis arrived.

Piret away with it.
