That's good to read, Jo! I hope it'll get even better with time! The cat my neighbours had was also a bit deaf when she was old (and dement, according to what they told me). Sometimes she seemed to have wanted to do something and forgot what it was and had to shout out her frustration about it, preferable at 3 o'clock in the morning. They once asked me, if I hear it and if I'm disturbed by it, but I had a very talkative cat too, and she liked to tell me stories in the middle of the night, when it overcame her. And I'm not sure, but sometimes Blacky was meowing very loud in the night near our house door, so maybe she heard the other cat.

As you can see, there are many new names in the Online list!

About 2 months ago, a small group of supporters of Tallinn Zoo asked if they could use some of our space for their own forum.
As they are not an English language group, we had to say No. But they are a group of decent people who have done a lot of fund raising for Tallinn Zoo. They have built a children's play area, and other works there.
It seems merely humane to help out if we can.

So they have a closed group, which is separate from "our" forum

I think this will raise the profile of Looduskalender, while providing the TZ group, as we have referred to them, with a helping hand.

Hmm, not such a small group, after all! :dunno:
If it interfers with the running of our forum, we may have to reconsider, but for now, we wish them well.

I would say "Welcome" and have a good time here! :hi: As we could see already, some of "you" are curious about "us" and have started participating in our discussions! That's nice and sure gives a new input to our topics!

I'm :offtobed: - good night

Yes, the group can´t be that small. On June 20th we had 1.200 members, later it were 2215, and today LK has 1256 members.
Nice to hear that people are doing this kind of voluntary work. I wish them further on good luck and success.

 Hello, I have returned from my vacation trip. We enjoyed my husband's family reunion celebration-- there were over 125 people there from the various branches of the family tree. We also spent several days time with his brothers & their families at our family house (his mother's before she deceased) on a nice lake in Wisconsin. Unfortunately, I slipped & fell, hurt my low back & left hip/leg while there, so I am limping & slow right now. It is getting better, slowly, but at least there is improvement. And although it did cause some reduced enjoyment of the visit for me, I still had a good time. Our cat was overjoyed when we came home. :D We returned to our home late at night on June 20th, & I am still very tired. So I will sign off for now & hope to feel more refreshed & ready to read all the forum news when I return after more rest.

Well, yes, there was a little bit of wine-- or actually, beer . . . & bratwursts . . .

I am feeling a bit improved today, but still quite sore. In a few days, I am sure I will get along just fine.

Thank you, everyone. I am more improved today & am finally beginning to be able to do some housework, with my hubby's assistance. He sorted the laundry & will take it out of the washing machine when it is done; I did stain treatment, put it in & started the machine. We make a good team!

What a touching story. Poor Phoenix, but luckily he was saved, and will be able to fly high in the sky again. Thanks to people who care :loveshower:

I bet you have never seen a pigeon like this one;

http://www.zooborns.com/zooborns/2012/0 ... chick.html
Pidgeon to be seen at Colchester Zoo (nr Jo ?)
That link is jam-packed with Zoo News. Search by animal or by zoos scroll down.. I read Dublin Zoo has a baby tapir.Tallin Zoo,an Ural Owl chick. (it is a bit out of date there.
Happy hunting, see beautiful photographs and videos too. :2thumbsup: Prima !!
Even if thats zoo news they all seem to do a wonderful job in protecting certain species.
I don't see our zoo there...great for Amur Leopards and Lamurians from Madagsgar.
Do tell us what you find from your zoo.
