Today it is a little cold and rainy day here in northern germany. :D yes, and than when I am not prepared and in that bad light I saw at least 5 wtes and the crane family. I am not good in digiscoping and this are free-hand-digiscoping tries.

 Hello macdoum. Who knows, but I do not think so. At least one of them is younger and maybe it is their first year together, and built the first nest here. Hope so that their will breed with success in the next year.

Hi Fireblade
:slap: What great video of the attack!

Beautiful photos too! They are very good! It is fun and nice to see that you have almost the same businesses there! It looks here the same.. though Blue tit chicks we have not seen here on Squirrel Hill, not yet..

(my PC is missing connection today, every now and then.. It's Midsummer eve.. :puzzled: I lost connection when I was editing my post..)

 Hi Olga! Yes looks like that :D . There are also a few squirrels around and also guests of my feeding place, but I have to be very very lucky to get a photo (no chance to be as good as yours). But btw it is nice to know that a few people are interested also in my pics. Today I was out with tired eyes.
I saw a few toads, very very small. I know that they will do their migration from the water into the wood in the next time. So I have to find another way to "my place"

Hope you can see the toad left of the arrow

 Oh my... what a sweet tiny toad! Congratulations for having noticed it, fireblade! Look at the fingers of this little being!
Once upon the time there used to live a big toad in our garden, in the midst of a perennial plot, we lived then in an other house.

For several years ago there used to live a big beautiful toad in our garden, in the midst of a perennial plot, we lived then in an other house.

She had a nice home cave there under the roots of long long lilies.

Here on Squirrel hill I have never seen not one toad, nor frogs either... :puzzled:

'my' toad, 1995  :

Image

There can be seen here small dark brownish (the color looks exactly same as the the black soil) 'lizards' under upper the stones that line the higher level in my garden, close to the apple tree seen on the background of the feeder pictures. They do not look like those common 'sisilisko'Zootoca vivipara , fast running lizards..be cause their skin seems to be all one colored and matte (no any gloss, no 'patterns' like vague stripes) - but perhaps they are 'covered' by a thin level of black soil?? They have holes and corridores there in the soil. I always put the stone back, if I happen to move some stone, carefully. I don't know who they really are!

Ah, what a long story!! And nothing to do with toads or frogs.. :rotf:

 Today, after thunderstorms with heavy rain yesterday, I saw "my" crane family on the right side.
Btw: Fleur, why not there are some birders from the netherlands here every year, I think. On the way to good places in the north or east (estonia?)
And Olga, beautiful toad in your garden some years ago

The two youngsters
