Maertha, I have posted pictures of Madis really giving the chicks a whole feeding. Don't know the exact date right now. Piret stepped in at last to feed the youngest but the older 2 were fed by Madis.

The small one prefers to be standing under the chest and wings of Piret. And her feathers are growing and changing dark right in front of our eyes!

SOOOO Happy that no 3 has had a good meal today. Each time I have looked in Piret has been brooding the chicks and at the moment can only see bottom's
poking out. Judging from the pics all the chicks have grown a lot.
Thank you to all who have posted, I love watching this nest and am hoping for a happy outcome. If Madis continues to supply fish like he has been, there should not be a problem. Piret is nagging at the moment, maybe she wants Madis to relieve her for a comfort break. Well she cant be hungry as there is a large portion of fish to her left.

Just back for a sec to post this picture, so sweet those 2 little behinds from under Piret.

21:10 Piret feeds the chicks from the fish that was on the nest. She is blocking the view so I can't tell which chick is getting the morsels.

21:20 Piret moved aside,to reveal that Uno (now with dark feathers on his head!) is sitting on #3, holding his head down. Uno's crop is stuffed - I think he (she?) probably got most of that last feeding.

21:43 Madis lands on the cam support

21:48 Madis drops down to the nest and picks up the leftover fish. He starts to eat it - but Piret jumps up and REALLY scolds him! She takes the fish away from him.






Piret eats a bite or two, then offers bites to the chicks.

Uno is full (and then poops). #2 is persuaded to eat some bites.

Piret is feeding # 3. I love her

Yes, it looked so beautiful. The biggest one was sleeping, head down on the bottom.. stomach full, probably!! The second one got food, too, but looked not to be very hungry.. I can't say for sure. But the smallest, she/he got several mouthfuls!

edit: Now I see, I was watching at 21:54 - 21:57! So, they have got even more food!

22:33 Madis is eating a fish and Piret broods. Piret maybe cleans them a bit, cannot see exactly. Oh the chicks are soooo big now.

Here they are both in the nest again and the male eating again.

Beautiful pictures all, thanks Olga, Nancy and others. But have you seen also that oldest one developped little white tufts above its eyes?
Not only did the head became very dark, bit he got some kind of eyebrows as well

Had no time for looking constantly, so here just some fragments of what seen during the evening

17.47 Madis brought a big fish and Piret starts feeding – but is standing so it´s impossible to see whom from the chicks she is feeding in the beginning at least………………………..
18.16 no parent in nest, then Madis came to nest, landed directly on the fish, Piret arrived and Madis began to eat and shortly after he flew away with the fish……………..
18.46 Madis brought the fish back in nest, ate – did also offer chicks some bites although Piret covered them and they were calm and silent………………….
18.57 Madis left again, taking the fish with him………………..
19.45 didn´t see fish coming to nest, but Piret was feeding – saw mainly chick 3 getting food, the other two seemed satisfied………………
20.25 Piret brooding – still some fish in nest………..

21.11 feeding going on – but with Piret in front……..
21.20 feeding was over, Piret made some arrangements of twigs……….
21.48 Madis in nest eating from the fish, but Piret did take it away from him and began to feed the chicks. Chick 1 was sleeping, chick 2 and chick 3 seemed to get as much as they wanted……………..

22.24 Madis came to nest, began to eat from the small piece of fish there was left. He did a couple of times offer a morsel for either chicks or Piret but when no one responded he just ate until no more was left.
