Thanks, dear Squirrel friends! :D Squirrels of course have their own Olympics going on always, but in principle they seem to be peace loving and calm and just live their life, and they defend their rights.

Tomorrow at 10 I saw Baby face coming. He was very careful, so alert. He didn't notice the flag. He noticed the door! The outdoor was open, and my dog was resting on the stairs.. yes, better to be careful. No-one knows what idea my 2 years old lively Nappy gets on her head.

ten pics of Baby face today:

He went back and forth about seven times till he decide to leave..

Baby face on video:

The next guest was Mops. She has had a little scratch on her face. Today the scab had fallen down, so the wound is recovering. Nothing to worry.

The injury for three days ago:

Mops (..she was called as Smiley last summer..I am quite sure that Mops and Smiley are one and the same female)

..She was curious enough to check the flag. She did not touch it, nor birds did that. Good! (it's made on fabric).

The lighting was difficult in the late afternoon. Mops is not very slim either, she looks like Paula on stomach and nipples.. Her form can be seen better on the videos.

The last visitor today was Silk ear, again. She seems to have eaten for the last time between 18:00 - 19:00.

At same time when Silk ear was eating, a Butterfly flew in my room from the side door and there it was, flying towards the window. I went to open the window with camera on hands:

I have never seen this black white butterfly before, I don't know its name.

Add: It is Poplar Admiral (Limenitis populi) is a butterfly in the heliconiine clade of the Nymphalidae family. It's rare here in Finland. The large, seldom-seen Poplar Admiral is one of the biggest butterflies in Europe. It is found in deciduous forests, where aspen (Populus tremula) or black poplar (Populus nigra.. we do have them here on Squirrel hill) trees grow. This is because the caterpillar only eats the leaves of these species of tree

Hm.. it looks to be in almost the natural size on the picture. Perhaps it was a bit bigger.. :puzzled: yes, it was. They are 69–90mm!

It's August!

This summer has been very fine, not too hot not cold, properly rain and not too much thunder weather. Grass is growing, flowers blooming and squirrels are fine:

There can be seen some kind of knop on the top of the right ear of Mops.. hm.. :puzzled: could it be a mite? It has been there for three days now. But her face skin, between nose and the fore head, looked very fine again.

What a beautiful butterfly! I have never seen one like that over here, though I just read, that they live here as well, only became very rare!

Could it be a tick on the ear? It's difficult to see on your picture! One of our squirrels had one, but not on the ear, it was on the neck. Nasty things!

Yes, a tick it could be. I had forgotten this word, and google gave the mite for 'punkki'. I have seen ticks every now and then, on neck or on cheek. Some times they are very small, tiny balls like ball on a 'pin' (nuppineula), sometimes like a small dark 'pea'.

 Paula Silk ear has visited but no other squirrels. Silk ear likes to be at place between 18:00 - 19:00. Today she was there till 19:30. It was raining and there was no light enough to get properly video.

Yesterday at 18:00 (there was too much light behind the view, this time)

Some pictures of the most devoted squirrel female at the feeder:

Paula Silk ear today, for one hour before the dark clouds covered the sun and the rain begun:

I took some video during the rain, but I haven't not checked how it looks. She has had a little bald area on the right cheek, but today I could see for sure that fur is growing back! The right cheek and also the mustache were very dirty for some days.. of blue berries, perhaps b c something else too, who knows! :D
