Tõnn doesn't seem to have moved for 10 days now. Has he found 'The Prefect Quiet Corner' ?

Well, Birdmap hasn't moved for 10 days :innocent:
More likely that Urmas has found himself in a very busy corner indeed ...
But there are no fresh reports of Tõnn in the Norwegian or Swedish bird observations reports sites either. Although maybe everybody has already ticked off Greater Spotted Eagle on their species lists.

It would be rather more worrying if Birdmap had been updated and Tõnn not moved :innocent:
So I rather think Urmas is on a hectic round of birds to be ringed and administrated.
And Scandinavian birders have GSE ticked on their lists already.

Wonder if Luule (GSE hybrid; now in Lithuania) and Ahja 2 (in the Ukraine) will seriously desert their homeland?
And what about LSE Karin who lost her mate Kaarel at last migration?

Migration map should turn new page, autumn 2012.
That takes a bit more time as usual updating... therefore some delay prolongs now.

So it was a good decision to put a transmitter to THIS bird

Afterwards it is easy to say, if the bird was that right one to put transmitter, but during equipping we need to decide with minutes...
Sometimes the decisions seem right, but not always!

Autumn update to Birdmap
Thank you, Urmas!

New birds, and Tõnn is back in Sweden.
Another GSE was - maybe - sighted July 29th in Västergötland, Central Sweden, south of our Tõnn.

Only three tagged storks with working transmiters left!

And how a chick of LSE parents turned out to be a GSE?

Asteria:
Luule is a hybrid Spotted Eagle, a female. The father is Lesser Spotted Eagle (LSE) and mother Greater Spotted Eagle (GSE). The first migration route of Luule is not common for LSE, rather for GSE. Also her plumage is strange, but similar bird is observed in Italy in winter 2010... Luule is from western Estonia, Läänemaa county. Second summer she spent mostly in SW corner of Latvia.
Beautiful bird, by the way!

Is Tõnn migrating already?
Update to Birdmap, data from August 10: he is in central Sweden (Värmland), some 40 km N of Lake Vänern.
One observation from August 10th in Swedish bird report database too from Värmland.
Well, nights are surprisingly cold already, many plants are silvery with late-autumn mildew.

In the "News" text on the migration map side is written that they will add more birds - cranes, ospreys and eagles .... perhaps it will take only some more days ...

Yes Urmas said it would take a bit as he has much to catch up on, and he may not want to put her on until she begins to migrate.
