Thanks, Robin, for the nice sequence of pictures! These pigeons sure can clean out the feeder fast.

Yes, greenfinch is right. It only seems to be yellow because of the sun.

In estonia it is "rohevint"
About greenfinch - It happened when I was a teenager more. I live right downtown, but we have a green yard. It was a very cold winter and we decided to put bird feeder behind the window. Mostly visited by grate tits, blue tits and house sparrows.One day, however, a whole squad of greenfinches.
They wer in love with a sunflower seeds eaten by a large excitedly. But some of the birds were very greedy. They were also required to obtain these seeds which were between the cage and the window. So they stayed there and did not know the escape. The mother opened the window slightly, took the bird and then
let the flight.
This apart, we had the idea that they could be ringd. Mom went to Nature Museum and said that we could ring the birds. I do not remember exactly the number of rings , however, all was :D documented. It was a very fun and a great experience

NB!Warning-This is a Google translation :shock:

Thank you, Robin, for the rohevint name! I looked so yellow so it is hard to believe that it is actually greenfinch!
