Another Eagle-Owl-Webcam: in western Germany in the Eifel:

The first little owlet has just hatched last night or so and is peeping loudly. You may turn the volume higher than usual (above the cam-picture), there is a small rail-line nearby and a street and a little village with wineyards underneath the nest.

Yesterday in the evening at about 20.45 cam time we could observe the stay of the female eagle owl from the http://webcam.pixtura.de/SWR_UHU/ cam on her nest. She stayed for nearly three quarters of an hour, at the beginning "singing a duet" with a male in the background. The female eagle owl is called Lotte. The guy whom we have to thank for this wonderful cam is Stefan Brücher http://www.egeeulen.de/inhalt/mitarbeiter.php

Spatz has told us of a cam showing eagle owls (Bubo bubo) in an area called Eifel in Germany:
http://webcam.pixtura.de/SWR_UHU/index.php
The Lady of the place (I don't know if it can be called nest) is called Lotte. It seems they did not breed this year (like many other birds in other places) but the text says Lotte seems to be still in breeding mood and they try to use the owl pair as step parents for an orphaned owlet
They have placed the little one in the nest in the evening:

laranjeiras, I think it is not Lotte, Lotte is the grown owl - supposed mother-to-be. I don't know if this orphan owl has a name already, looking through their texts, I did not find anything. But it's a real sweetie - the eyes!

I see the little owl sitting there in the corner -- looking a bit nervous.
(edit -- I have to leave the room but I have the volume high so maybe if Lotte shows up I will hear something)
I surpassed the allowed transmission time.

The little Eagle Owlet has spent the night there at the nest - but Lotte and her partner haven´t noticed it yet. Owlet behaves as if it had hatched there, sleeping, walking around a bit and watching the surrounding.
It was put there well fed - it should be hungry now, but the problem is that it doesn´t call begging.
Later, towards evening, it will probably get some food from the Ornithologists there. They also think about the possibility to play begging calls from a tape, near the nest rockface, so that the adult owls can notice the orphant owlet and get stimulated to feed it.

Yes, I saw it and my heart stopped beating
The Eagle Owl didn´t wear rings - I don´t know whether Lotte does?

Thanks spatz, Bea & Felis.
I tried to read about the first contact. Google translator did not do very good job. But if I understood right Lotte hasn´t fed the owlet yet, but someone (human) did throw a rat there for the owlet...?
Hopefully Lotte will accept the owlet and bring food for her/him.

Yesterday evening the man who takes care of all this around the owlet, Stefan Brücher, climbed the rock and threw a rat near the owlet - and he thought he had thrown it exactly ON the owlet
Owlet swallowed it a bit later!
Down on the ground again he played a tape with owlet begging calls and adult owls were very interested and only 50 m away in the rockwall.
After 20 min female Lotte flew to the owlet and first was quite irritated about it. But soon afterwords Lotte began to search for hidden prey in the cave, scratched the ground and corners and nearly damaged the microphone cable when biting it like a rats tail
To stimulate female Lotte for feeding, Stefan Bücher will put out prey not far from the adult owls and throw more food to the owlet, too.
