Egg #1 and #2 are both about to hatch (both eggs have confirmed pips) at Allesondra's Great Horned Owl cam in Oklahoma City. Egg #3 will take another day or so.

Closeup video of above mentioned great horned owlet hatching: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HfMY66uS ... gQ&index=4

And a short appearance by the owlet: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E41zhjuc ... gQ&index=1

Thanks to Allesondra's Great Horned Owl cam: http://www.ustream.tv/okcowlcam

Mrs. Tiger, the female, is moving around a lot in her nest with one owlet already hatched, another hatching as we speak, and the third soon to be hatching, so every now and then you can see a glimpse of a wee white fluffy owlet. And you can hear it talk almost all the time. At night time you can rather often also hear Mr. Tiger, the male, hoot in the distance, keeping contact with his family or so. And Mrs. Tiger answers him then. She also "talks" to the owlet(s), but in a different vocalisation.

EDIT: Here a very good view of the owlet, and the two eggs, when Mrs. Tiger briefly left the nest to stretch her wings: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCa9Npzf ... won_ycuPAA

EDIT 2: Here a series of pictures of the hatching of #1: http://www.flickr.com/photos/okcowlcam/ ... otostream/

Video of the second feeding of the little owlet (first feeding wasn't visible because Ma Owl was sitting with her back towards the camera): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yQveigu ... e=youtu.be (video made by polo7422)

Webcam: http://www.ustream.tv/okcowlcam

Picture of the owlet and it's soon to be siblings:

Pic resized by Bea. Requested max. size is 800 x 600 pixels. Thank you.

The egg on top has clearly a pip, but it looks like the other egg might have a very small beginning of a pip too.

Great news indeed, since it has taken the owlet more than 50 hours to get out of the egg. I watched the cam yesterday and in the cam-chat many people, including experts, said the second owlet would most likely perish since it took so long to get out. The membrane on the inside of the eggshell would dry out after such a long time and make the chick stick to the shell, but the little one made it nevertheless.

Here a video made by Morlach where you can see both owlets alive and kicking, or rather peeping, while the female stretches her wings for a few minutes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fw2YpPJh ... e=youtu.be

At Alessondra's Great Horned Owl cam (http://www.ustream.tv/okcowlcam) still no sign of owlet #3 crawling out of it's egg, although a pip was confirmed almost 2 days ago. But then again, owlet #2 used more than 57 hours to come out of the egg, so #3 is still on schedule. Viewers have confirmed that the pip has become larger.

Here a video from last night with a good view on the owlets and egg #3, when Mrs Tiger, the female, went to stretch her wings for a short bit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zmzzkS6Q ... e=youtu.be

And here a video of a feeding last night: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MumU32V5tjI

Egg #3 has hatched at Alessondra's Great Horned Owl cam (http://www.ustream.tv/okcowlcam).

Video made by Morlach of all 3 owlets while Mrs. Tiger, the female, was stretching her wings for a few minutes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GMIwuhw6 ... e=youtu.be

Video by Polo7442 of the female eating the now empty eggshell. Owlet #3 visible on the left, and looks still a bit wet: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQ_01aYBLic

EDIT:
Video of first sighting of owlet #3, made by polo7422: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B7JM7JQq ... e=youtu.be

EDIT 2:
Now all 3 owlets have hatched they have been given names already; Sabre, Amur and Bengal respectively. Seems they have been named after tiger species, just like last year's owlets Tigress and Teegra had a tiger-theme. This because one of the other names for Great Horned Owls is the Tiger Owl.

Feeding time at Alessondra's Owl in Oklahoma. The mouse is a bit too big - but they will manage to get it done.
