it's terribly windy and the connection is not very good... :slap:

she got up on the left balcony. the picture is shaking so badly. the camera is another tree than the nest. i think it may be a spruce, i've seen green twigs in front of the camera sometimes. the two trees are swinging in different direction in the wind. if the nest and the camera were in the same tree they would swing together. this one of the seasickness-cameras. It's so windy! The camera view changes all the time, I hope it gets back to normal when the wind calms down

i'm afraid that calming down may not happen before evening. Image

aahh... but now that we know where the nest is situated we could have a look at weather forecast there. :whistling:
the sunshine is beautiful and at the moment the wind is not so strong.

it's the female. she has no rings.
Image

the male has rings: blue-red Lithuanian rings on the right leg and orange-blue year ring. that's 2007 and it has code V506. so far we don't have a better name for him.

i wish that she'd stay there and not drop the egg before the nest is in shade. that should take an hour or so. then the sun should have turned enough. :whistling:

she also seems to have two rows of big spots in her tail. before this i have only seen a thin spotty line on it, but she hasn't shown her tail properly before this. normally the upper spot row is hiding.
Image

i can still hear the pygmy owl whistling over the wind.

there a lot of branches in the nest tree which aren't normaly seen even in Pontu pictures. here's an example from one other windy day, March 8th. there must be more branches even higher.
Image

someone is back home. i can't see who... the eagle is nestorating busily in the back of the nest...
Image

i think this is the male's tail.

my camera has difficulties staying on... :bash:

the wind is so hard that the camera is looking up, not quite over the treetops yet but the nest vanishes from the bottom of the picture at times.

the wind may be calming down little by little. i see more of the nest now... :whistling:

i've made a complete playlist of yesterday's videos.
http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL ... Sl1600U_HV

a slideshow of yesterday's picture album is here:
http://s561.photobucket.com/user/anmael ... 2014-03-13

i shall also make similar playlists and picture album slideshows both for the past days and in the future and i'll add links to them in my last post of that day. these lists will not be ready by the next morning though because it takes time to prepare them but sooner or later they will be there.

the videos and pictures will be in time order starting from the morning. in the picture albums i shall add those Pontu pictures which have some interesting content. now there will be pictures with eagles, but later i shall not add all of those pictures.

one eagle just flew in. i can't see which.... the ankles are inside hay which is out of picture part of the time. :puzzled:

it looks so small that it could be the male but the tailspots are fairly big... :puzzled:
