Klaara was expected to leave as usual in the evening, so all would see the 5 eggs. However, that night Klaara didn't go out on time.

There was also talk of the many and international viewers.

Sorry, Pinkeluza, the ETV link should be OK outside Estonia too. Some ETV transmissions are restricted, but not this one.PINKELUZA wrote:------

I cannot see the video ...
Klaara started "proper" incubation after laying 3rd egg. During first two eggs Klaara left the eggs up to 4 hours and probably during daytime didnt warm the eggs up to 38-39 C. Owls do it because then first 2-3 chicks hatch in same time or moreless same time. Klaara deviated from this behaviour only in 2010 when she started to hatch after 1st or 2nd egg and all chicks hatched after 1-2 day interval.Putnihe: 20:22 Klaara is sleeping.
Had anybody worked out the expected hatch date for the owlets ?
Macdoum: I'm afraid that we can't count these 28-30 days from the first egg.
We got the first egg on 11 March, but the eggs laying period was rather long - 11 days (5th egg on 22 March).
Thus, I bet on 16-18 April
Thank you Renno. Calender is marked.
Klaara´s eggs incubation time have varied 28-31 days and we can predict first chicks hatching date between 13th and 16th of April. Will see
