Thanks to Urmas for the pictures - indeed they look like confident owls now. Whaw. So good to see them alive in their natural surroundings!

The Little Owl webcam (beleefdelente)- yes, the 2nd chick has hatched and the 3rd egg is opening, acc. to the forum. You can hear Ma making soft sounds!

Btw - I found another interesting Owl webcam site here: http://video.tau.ac.il/General/birds/
It's a Barn Owl, or Tyto alba, or Loorkakk in Estonian. The nestbox is up in the watertower of a kibbutz in Israel, near the Jordanian border. Some data about the project here: http://www.birdlife.org/news/news/2009/ ... srael.html and http://www.owls.org/Whatis/pest_control.htm .

Sitsch (but I'd rather say Sytch) is the russian name for Little Owl ) The cyrillic is Сыч.

You know the movie "The dark cristal" from Jim Henson? They look like little "Skekse"

but of course, they will become dignified and nice owls like their parents
