Janis said that he didn't weigh the eaglet because they know the age. only the ring and a feather from the breast for DNA analysis.

the feather in an envelope.

it's a shame that he didn't measure the leg though and give us a guess which one Durberts is: a boy or a girl.
anyways, seeing Durberts fighting back and waving wings like that i think it was best not to do anything else. there is the danger that a big eaglet like Durberts might jump out of the nest.

thank you Janis and crew! :2thumbsup:

here's video:

i made a slightly shorter video. this begins from the lens cleaning.

Thank you for the information, Ame. That was really neat watching this. Did Janis say anything about the nest being fragile? I was worried for him and Derberts. Sometimes it looks like there's not many branches supporting the nest.

Proud of little Derberts...he was a brave eaglet. So cute and curious. I hope parents come soon.

I just about managed to get everything, when I arrived at work and opened the cam, Janis' head turned up

Finally again a good view and I think right in the end he also took off the monster cone!
Durberts behaved very brave!

It was interesting to see the live ringig! I am bit envious, this is a good job, although climbing the tree would be my problems
Thank you Janis and crew

a crack/bang. and the tree swang a little? did a parent land on the tree? :puzzled:

edit: i looked this up. it was not a parent. i think Durberts would have greeted a parent.
instead i found out that at 8:09 a branch straightened and tension was released on the lower right side of the nest. the branch must have gone in a 'wrong' place when Janis climbed up and down.
