Re: Lesser Spotted Eagle Webcam Discussion
Oh - this big dark prey is gone - so quickly!
About younger one - hate so say that but it's fate depends from one more thing (besiders weather and Eha’s way to treat it)
I searched a web today and found out about C a i n i s m - Cain and Abel syndrome - the killing of a nesting bird by a nestmate, always the first and oldest bird. It is most dramatic in eagles, especially Aquila.

Here is a bit more about Cainism w i t h i n t h e L e s s e r S p o t t e d E a g l e s p e c i e - seems like reliable source of information- scroll a bit down to see the Introduction -

Of course it doesn’t happen every nest - but it’s likely, and evidently Nature has it’s own reasons for that.

Eha is digging in the nest and re-arranging the green twigs before settling down again.

Given that Eha seems to sometimes eat instead of feeding Spotlet #1, Spotlet #1 might end up rather hungry at some point. I guess we will learn...yarko wrote:Oh - this big dark prey is gone - so quickly!

I have missed everything but i so happy that the second egg hatched
Now I hope both chicks will survive
Both chicks were just feeded and Eha did a good job, little pieces each time

yarko, thanks for posting that link - that professional article was also recommended to me. The Introduction (and actually, all of the paper) is very interesting. I read the paper, but could not find the link this morning.yarko wrote:Here is a bit more about Cainism w i t h i n t h e L e s s e r S p o t t e d E a g l e s p e c i e - seems like reliable source of information- scroll a bit down to see the Introduction -

So Spot Senior looks to be white and Spot Junior is grey, at the moment.
Yarko and bociany, thanks for the Cain and Abel information.
Oh well, wait and see.

Good evening Everybody !
I have made a video about today's last feeding.
The very interesting part is the middle of the video.
Please watch it in HQ mode!
