Spot is recovering well http://www.looduskalender.ee/node/5269, seems they expect he will manage the migration journey.
All the way to Africa  ?

That would be very hard for Spot. Maybe move him to Spain too?

Yesterday I wanted to send a message, but probably did not save what I wrote...

Today we removed with Joosep both, LSE and BS camera systems from woods.
Maybe tomorrow will post some images.

About Spot.
Think, it's too late to let her/him to go. By now LSEs arrive to Africa already...
Animal shelter is agree with that position.

Urmas, what do you think might happen to Spot's migration instinct, next year?

And what is better for Spot: staying in Nigula or transporting him directly to Africa by plane?

First I'm not sure if Spot is still able to behave in natural conditions successfully?
Migration instinct should be connected with lenght of day, sure that now it is actual, but after couple of months not anymore. It could be that in spring eagles instinct will follow him to North...

Aaah - our beautiful, ferocious Spot, whom we watched and admired so much!
I hope he finds a good role in his life, wherever he goes.

Poor Spot
I hope the fierceness with which she grabbed her food and flapped her wings sees her through this. Spot has a special place in my heart and I want her to fly free and fierce.

:loveshower: My best wishes to Spot! Thank you the personnel in Nigula!

Some reminiscenses of one inmemorable Lesser soptted eagle in Estonia.

Spot, the great Lesser spotted eagle on the 28th June 2009 with his father Koit - a great 'person' as a Lesser spotted eagle male. I don't remember if these pictures have been shown earlier. Spot seemed to protect the nest when Koit came to look him.. what a great young, almost baby LSE...

I do not remember the twig but I remember noticing how Spot was sort of aggressive or posturing with Koit in a way Spot was not with Eha. It made me wonder if Spot was a male.
