One of the first bald eagle nests I watched was on Vancouver Island, In British Columbia, on the west coast of Canada.

In 2007, the bald eagles fledged one chick from that nest, and in October we noticed some plants starting to grow:

The eagles did not use this nest the following spring (2008) and the plants continued to grow. One day in March 2008, one of the eagles visited the nest but did not stay long. The tall plants had a yellow flower, I forget what species we decided they were.

For humans :innocent: ? What kind is it?

Last Friday the mushroom woods (N of Stockholm) were sadly empty, just "yellow legs", Cantharellus tubaeformis, lehter-kukeseen (?) around, so send it here, please ...

Dove-coloured tricholoma? (doesn't sound very popular), tuviheinik, silkesmusseron - mycorrhiza grows with aspen, book says :innocent:

Dear Mr. Head Gardener of Stork Nests, Urmas -
Some questions about this year´s greenery (and non-green things).
Do you think we were right in the forum to believe that Padis or Toomas brought a nettle root to the nest (= it didn't grow from seed there)? And the dandelion, if that was what it was?
Those mushrooms: same thing, a bit of mycel? It takes a lot of time and babying to get a big mushroom from a spore. From where, then - are there that kind around?
Have you seen mushrooms in stork nests before?

Of course. We ALWAYS keep STRICTLY to topic. If the topic goes straying - what can we do?

So there were here. But all the interesting ones have disappeared. So Urmas Tartes' strategy of giving red mushrooms when there are no red roses would be very difficult (but plenty of red roses flowering!).
But it is really like a detective story - the nettles, mushrooms etc. clues to where Padis has been.
PS. Yarko, you forgot the ants in the camera

Anything seen in the BS cam area is to the point. Actually it is Padis that grew all this up. :D Or we can open the topic "Black stork gardening and interior" and discuss the issue there.

Awe with all the talk of mushrooms, you make me upset that i missed the annual Mushroom Festival in the town of Kennet Square,Pennsylvania.

Supposedly they are the largest production center for mushrooms in the USA. It was an interesting tour to see how they are raised commerically and learn that they are all not grown in manure.
