The big parent branch is broken. A big branch blocks the view. It all looks dangerous.
That is why Vērotāja wrote to Māra Strazda. Thank you, Vērotāja :2thumbsup:

They will go into the forest and examine the situation
Vērotāja wrote:Saņēmu vēstuli no Māra Strazda:

Iekārušos zaru svētdien mēģinās novākt, pareizāk sakot, novāks, taču ir ļoti liels risks, ka zars noies zemē ar visu ligzdu - kura šobrīd turas uz nekā - jo 1,5m no galvenā zara, kas to balstīja, ir zemē. Ja nu tas notiks, tad tur uztaisīs mākslīgo ligzdu, tam palīdzība nav vajadzīga un laiks pietiks.
I can not really translate it properly.
But I understand, however, when help is needed, they will build m a new platform :2thumbsup:

Good Morning!

Best wishes for the coming season, I hope it'll be interesting, full of good news and best results

The nest looks very different. It takes time to recognize it again.

I saw that last year the forum started in the last week of March, 3 weeks later than now.

That can explain the difference: there is snow and naked trees around and under.

They have removed the big branch. :2thumbsup: Thanky you  :loveshower:
Probably the nest is still safe for this breeding season. They did not have to build a new platform

Wow! They have done a great job, removing the big tree trunk!
But it's a pity that the trunk is broken. Is was so perfect for parents and storklets to sit on. 8-)

I wish all a good and happy season! :2thumbsup:

Hello Baska  ,
I have scrolled back the stream and listened carefully to the sounds. I've looked and heard from 17:20 until 17:45, but haven't heard any whistling of a Black Stork. Only squeaking of wood is to hear now and then.
Do you know the exact time when you heard the whistling?
Soon scrolling back to that time is no more possible, time is runnig.

March 7

Good Morning Stork Lovers :hi:

Baska, like Michi, I've listened toabout the stream for more than an hour. I haven't heard any Black Stork
The nest is still full with snow :slap:

EDIT:Latvia DD members expect, that the Black Stork return at the end of March, at the beginning of April.
Last year Ozols came at the end of March.
On the other hand, Female is very early this year in hungaria?

Good morning Michi and Liz :hi:

What a frustration !
But I haven't dreamed, have I ?!?
I wrote that I have heard the whistling just before my posting. How long does that last ?
I had also to open all the other assistances to be able to send the picture.
Well, 2 - 4 minutes before my posting, the most.
Or did my wishful thinking play such a dirty trick on me ........ ? :puzzled:
Cannot be either, because I didn't expect a stork already coming ...
I heard it very loud as if the stork would have been sitting just beside the cam.
Could have been another stork, though, not Ozols.

How is it possible to scroll back the stream ???
And please, Liz, give me also the link to our forum from last year.
Perhaps you can write all this in a PN to me.

I wish you a nice day !
greetings from Baska
