Male osprey on the nest, female on the cam support ... first he flys off, then she comes down, then he lands on her back, but she shakes him off

This nest looks more and more like a nest ready for the season. :whistling:

It wasn't a mating - it was a straw delivery :rotf:

Good Morning to all.

Thanks for accepting me onto the forum.
I´m a primary school teacher working in Spain and have introduced my class of 10 year olds to the wonderful world of Osprey webcams.

The children are thrilled to be following the Latvian nest and we hope to follow the Kalakotkas in Estonia when they come back to the nest.

I´m a total novice birdwatcher, so look forward to finding out as much as possible from you guys.

So far I´ve seen that these birds are unknown/unnamed.
Any idea when we could see eggs? I´ve read that it´s usually the end of April ???

Thanks.

Hello Jojo, welcome to the forum!

In case that this couple will establish at this nest, one can expect a first egg around mid/end of April.

Links to summarys of previous seasons:

viewtopic.php?p=365849#p365849

Latvian forum and its member will surely find nice names for the couple - they are still unnamed, as this nest cam is new and has still no "online history".
