at last i have finished making videos this morning. i would save so much work if i got up earlier than the eagles like Liz.

6:44 an eagle flew by the nest from the left to right.
... then Raimis came in with a stick. well done Raimis!

6:46 it began to rain and Raimis went to the left balcony.

it rained hard for a long time...

7:14 the hard rain was over and Raimis jumped back to the nest. .. and Milda flew to the top and startled Raimis. he saw her but we didn't. 8-)

7:25 Milda flew away from the top and Raimis followed.

8:03 back again after a pause of few minutes.

8:06 still BB's. - i didn't make video of every appearance, although many of them.

9:50 a small flock of great tits. one of them had to peek in the camera.

MĀRIS and mega2 have made pictures of these visitors. thank you!

roosaluristaja confirms (as much as it can be done based on the picture material that we have) there my identification of the stripy bird yesterday morning: it was probably yellow hammer.

12:25 loud roaring voice from the forest. a boar probably.
Abigyl wrote:... I saw him but without sound, I thought they had a fight last night

It's good to read hear that she was on the top tree
i think that the rain got between them. Milda wanted to remain dry this time and let Raimis soak on the branch.
she flew tothe tree only after the rain had stopped.

12:30 a big grey bird flew by. i think it was a grey heron.
Image

it may have been a crane, too. it was difficult to get clear enough pictures. in one frame the neck looked extended and in the next it looked bent. :puzzled:
Image

i think it was a grey heron anyway. a little later a grey heron called nearby. (that's not on the clip).

this is far out and so much off-topic but i can't resist... :whistling:
here's a sentence from the newsletter of the Estonian ornithological society:
"... Talgute lõpus toimub ühine EuroBirdwatch 2017, mille käigus pannakse kirja kõik kohatud linnuliigid. ..."
for the translation of this sentence the gmail's translator, i.e. Google Translator gives:
"At the end of the massacres carried out joint EuroBirdwatch 2017, which put down all the species of bird."
massacres?!?
put down all bird species!??
... i don't think so... :rotf:
i think the letter tries to tell that they'll make a summary of bird species which were observed. :whistling:

i checked the morning videos and saw that some sticks had moved. the wind was especially hard after 8 am.
8:25 one stick started to shake in the wind.

8:27 more shaking...

these breezes were nothing compared to the GUST that hit the nest at 8:58. it blew some sticks out of the nest. :slap:
Raimis and Milda will have to learn to build much better than this.

8:56 the woodpecker was a female greater spotted: no red on the head.
Image

i made close-up clips of both.

9:01 it was a juvenile WP: the whole top of the head was red. also the white areas on their backs looked a bit different. the female had larger and more uniform white than the juvenile.

9:24 a grey little bird visited. i don't think it was either chiffchaff nor willow warbler. they are greener and smaller i think. this little bird was unfortunately quiet... or maybe in the end she said tik-tik but i'm not sure that it was she who said it. :help:
this is the normal view video of the bird.

and this is a close-up clip of the visit.

9:28 a nuthatch, a great tit and a blue tit. actually at least two blue tits and who knows how many altogether.
the nuthatch usually announces her arrival loud.
the nuthatch took an acorn.
