Hello everyone! I'm newly registered to the forum, but I've been watching the cams for several years now. Really glad to see the first egg today!
I was curious and checked the first/last egg dates for previous years and was surprised to see only one year (2010) when all the eggs were laid in April. In 2009, 2013 through 2017, by now all the eggs would have been laid. I didn't find data for 2011-2012.
I guess the spring has been coming very slowly all across Europe. We're seeing the same here in the north of Slovakia - very mild winter followed by unusually long period of freezing nights in March. I have a few small birdhouses with offline cams, occupied by great tits (Parus major) and nuthatches (Sitta europaea) and usually they would all be building their nests by now. As of last week, they were all empty with no signs of nests yet.
Hopefully, with the Easter weekend, the spring will finally arrive in full force and it will be a good nesting season for Klaara and Klaus.
