Here is a webcam on an osprey nest in Scotland.
http://www.thewebbroadcastingcorporatio ... wt/swt.php

This osprey makes headlines every year because of her age - estimated to be 25 years - and the fact that she has laid 55 eggs. There were 3 eggs last year but one of the chicks died of starvation. Heavy rain made fishing impossible for the male. There was a comment that a second chick may die but I didn't see any further reference to it.

There are links to headlines about her, on the right of the page

Jo,I think the reference above about the chick dying is another nest.?
I just read back to Chrissy Behans report on last years migration fom Loch Lowes (on Finnish Osprey thread)
Three chicks migrated from there last year;
Rothes,Garten and Mallachie who had a tracking device they were all females,according to Chrissy.
Lets hope for success this year too 'though the 'mother' osprey is old now.

I think some of you already know, but in Portugal, besides the Vulture/BS cam, there is a site for white storks that was set by the guys from electricity lines:

In the site http://static.publico.clix.pt/cegonhasnaweb/ from 2 cams it is possible to see near 20 WS nests, some better and some more far. Some of the storks are already taking care of their eggs. The cams usually point out for one nest each other but form time to time the camman makes a tour or puts the "views" in auto run and the cam goes from one nest to another

Sorry, bad news for the Belgium BS nest.

All the history is there with timings and 2 videos. Not nice to see. http://www.solon.be/cigogne.php

There was an double attack to the nest: an intruder attacked the male that was there. There was a big fight and they both fell of the nest. Before the "owners" returned, a raven ate one of the eggs and took another. Then the intruder returned and get rid of the other two eggs: no eggs anymore and now they don't know what will happen there

I have just read the text, minute after minute all what happened on the nest. It is so sad! Nature is not fair. The videos brake my heart. :cry:

Oh, how awful!! Yesterday I happened to check a bald eagle's nest in British Columbia (the "Sidney" nest). The Mother Eagle flew off and within one minute, as I watched, a raven came in and took one of the eggs. Shocking to see! The eagle returned within 20 seconds and knew there was something wrong - she gave loud cries.
