Dear friends, yesterday Birgit got the spotlights for the frog theatre and of course she had immediately to try it at the pond. What an action there is during night time! Birgit had her laugh!
A mercilessly tormented water frog was fighting for hours againsta perky, but brave little tree frog:
The whole story is told here:
Turf war between tree- and water frog
Enjoy!

Thanks to the new flash light Birgit was able to discover the mysterious stripeless tree frog ladies! Enchanting, aren't they!?
Who would like to find out more about the nightly life of the tree frog ladies can find Birgit's newest observations here:

Sitting in the evening at the pond you really feel like being in the theatre,- and this with the best of all repertories!

Thank you, Birgit and Brit again. He, the Painted frog, is very beautiful as well as the Stripeless tree frogs too. How different can frogs be! The pictures of Birgit reminded me of one picture I happened to get once upon the day, to years ago when I was visiting Estonia! This, Bubo Bubo, Toad
Long time ago this species of frog lived in our garden, he had a nest, a little hole, in the roots of Marshal's lily.

Birgit had been at Guadalhorce again, where she enjoyed the feathered friends like this greenfinch …
… and at the same moment got very frustrated about the doings of human species. This happens rather seldom, but what she saw let her hair stood on end. The reason for that you can read here. But also many other things!

Thinking about the way people would pay to hide their houses from birds and then pay to spray the insects with pesticides because the birds aren't eating as many and then end up paying to do something else for the birds and clean up some other mess.
It would be easier let the birds in and to clean up a little bird mess in the first place.
One of my happy childhood memories was watching the barn swallows under our deck.

What sweet the House martins look. Amazing photos, Birgit! I had not seen before these kind of photos of swallows on the ground, and collecting materials for nest.

Just before Birgit will drive to the Mecca of birders, the Guadalquivir, here a few photos from her yesterday visit to San Roque.
These two: their feathers stood on end with rage, but …
… all became peaceable again. Who wants to have a look here are the photos to be seen:

Have a Happy Easter!!!

Wonderful four days of birding and discovering wonderful new land scapes are behind Birgit! It was just fantastic!
The reports will follow in 5 chapters. Today Birgit starts with
a birds paradise, which was created by two young Spanish biologists southwest of Sevilla and is located very close to the Doñana-Parks

And here another report from the huge nature reserve southwest of Sevilla. At one afternoon the temperatures rised up to 27°C in the shadow. Ideal to get to know the pine forests of Aznalcázar:

Thank you again, Birgit, for sharing your routes there in bird Paradises. So you have met a Hoopoe too, Eurasian Hoopoe - Vaenukägu, toonetutt in Estonian, what interesting name.
I have once in my life had a dream of having seen a Hoopoe, only a dream - it's was so a strange dream because I felt me so extremely happy in the dream for seeing just that bird..There it was, stood close to my feet and allowed me to watch it, and when I woke up, I went and looked in my bird book what is the name of that strange bird - it was very long time ago.

What a dream, dear Olga ... maybe it wanted to tell you, that one day you should travel to where these birds are living!? I have never seen one too!Olga wrote: I have once in my life had a dream of having seen a Hoopoe, only a dream - it's was so a strange dream because I felt me so extremely happy in the dream for seeing just that bird..There it was, stood close to my feet and allowed me to watch it, and when I woke up, I went and looked in my bird book what is the name of that strange bird - it was very long time ago.
