We have called the chicks by these names practically since birth. Now they are all grown up and it still works for me.

Bea, in the end results, can Pia & Piia, be counted together? I would think that both names are pronounced the same.
All of the names are great

Cessie, Silke , I agree with you, yes, Pia/Piia and Nora/Noora are pronounced the same though the spelling is different (the same situation was with mom Iris/Iiris name)

Good evening
Piia as well as Pia, just like Noora and Nora, were explicit suggestions in the topic here:
viewtopic.php?f=56&t=983
Please check yourself.
Despite they are pronounced the same way in Estonian language,
there are inhabitants in Estonia whose name is
Piia or Pia
Noora or Nora
So people/parents decide these little difference in names purposely.
Please check yourself here:
https://www.stat.ee/public/apps/nimed/
This webpage about Estonian statistics of many kinds is provided by Estonian Government Agency, please read more here:
https://www.stat.ee/about
Every season members find reasons to complain about during naming process.
So, you already have found one, or even two. No astonishment from my side if more will appear.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to make everything right for everyone.

Hellem, can we have only one spelling of a name, that has two different spellings, but is still the same name? That way the votes won’t be split. With, Iiris, Bea, gave us the choice to spell it, Iiris or Iris.
Anyway this is just a request for next season’s name polls.

Hi Bea,
When I suggested the name Pia, I only added the Estonian spelling (Piia) because of what you wrote with the name poll for Iiris...
Bea wrote:
" and it is *tadaaa* ---> Iiris / Iris
I´d say both spellings are okay, Iiris as well as Iris. Some members may wish to use the Estonian spelling, others the one with the single 'I' "
With it being 2 options in the poll (with a few votes both) there's no change for the name Pia to win.
Oh well, nevermind...

I agree with Kitarr, the two different spellings could be combined and so the polls for the two spellings could be counted together. And the Estonian spelling could be preferredKitarr wrote: ↑July 26th, 2019, 6:39 am Hi Bea,

I don't understand: which name should a storklet have, when you count two voted name results together? Than one would have to decide whether it is may be Pia oder Piia! In my humble opinion this is no good idea!

Crazylv831, I chose, Nadia, too.
After the great, Nadia Comaneci!
That was the first person with the name that I knew of. I bow to Nadia Comaneci.
One day we will have a chick named, Nadia.
Leona, I don’t understand any difference, except for spelling, of Noora and Piia.
We would use the traditional Estonian, spelling. Not, Pia or Nora. Same name.
But, the most votes are - Mart, Plivi and Nele, are very nice.

Then I'd go for Ibsen's Nora (or Noora) which is more appropriate because of its relation to northern countries than Romania.... Nadia Comaneci ...

The procedure for the name poll has changed a bit, since we have the poll function back with the last big forum software update (it didn´t work in the previous version)
Please don´t place your favourite names in a post here, but go to the poll post, first post up here.
Then 1. click on the quadratic buttons beside your three favourite names and 2. then click on "Submit vote".
For illustration:
When you can´t see the quadratic buttons to click, refresh the page and you should see it.

Currently, 23:05, head to head race between "Nele" and "Nora". It remains exciting
