Charley at 17:00

Image

In some minutes half of the hanging fat ball had disappeared.

Image

I was away for one hour and came to look what's happening.. There was Charley still sitting and looking around enjoying the fresh weather, he has full stomach, and not one dog was barking to him.

macdoum wrote:Yes beautiful but the cold is coming then. I hope the snow will wait a while otherwise you will have a long, long winter. !

Its fun to see Bud there.. he examined that new/old feeder from every angle..from the top to the bottom.. he went off to :dunno: think about it and came back just to make sure. :D
He even looked to make sure you were still there and finally reassured he began to eat. :headroll:
Your photos tell all that.. :thumbs : Thank you.
Thank you Carmel! I have been a bit busy to create stories. You made it.. How fine it would be that you could add the 'thoughts, findings and plans of Bud' right there on the original pictures where they belong.

What if I add serial number on each photo, post by post ? You could send me PM if some photo of some squirrel is 'saying' something special to you in your mind? I could add the lines on each photo with a little mark that macdoum has 'the copyright' of those lines.. We did it for one time! What do you say? :D

My English is too poor! I know sweet Finnish old poems related to squirrels.. so descriptive and..well known here, but those lines are not possible to translate with my skills..

Their faces show emotions and thoughts.. (oh, of course we are just humans and we never can learn how they 'think' en reality.. Anyway, squirrels are shy, they have many dangers in the nature. I am sure that their life is not too easy. But there is one thing on this hill that makes me calm: there are not too many cars here and the roads are narrow, and it's only very seldom that domestic cats are lurking after them.

Today I had very busy day, but I saw two squirrels, Charley at 10. He left about 11:00. Then later in the afternoon came some other squirrel about 16:00 - 17:00. First I believed that it was Anja, but no, it is a male. Bud? I am not sure of it.

First Charley, the Red Tassel Squirrel :2thumbsup: :

Yes, he can't be Bud, he is darker, and there is still some brownish color on his back. The body of Bud is longer, hm... need to watch Bud here..

Olga thank you for all of today's photos. Now,the last visitor..I do not know.. :puzzled: I have one pic I printed and it still has ? on it.
Bud seems so much lighter- colouring in earlier photos. Of course all the 'identities I printed are out of date.! The squirrels have all changed colours and grown little or big tassels The dates are from 8/9/2010 to 10/10/2010.
What a 'crumble'.. :D
I made some notes but as its now 3 am here its time to.. :offtobed:
Tomorrow is another day.!

 Hi, I are probably right! Thanks for being observant. This is not too easy, because we always see only one squirrel at time, and they are changing quite fast, some of them are growing, all of them change colors, fur is getting more furry, they get tassels.. They have different tones of colors, but also the light surrounding changes etc..

I searched the photos of the squirrel you mentioned. I'll make 'triple picture' to make comparison (soonest possible) and add it on this post.

It is not Anja, just can't be because it is a male. It is not Bud, because Bud is taller and Bud's head looks as way 'lesser' -his body is rather slender too.

How nice! Now we could give a name for this male squirrel. :bounce:

edit:
to compare:

His name?? Oscar? Clark? Yves? Sam? etc Propositions, please
