keito1726 wrote: May 9th, 2024, 8:32 am Good morning. ...Thanks Ame for last night's interesting videos. Zorro's an acrobat, hanging upside down on that branch - :hi: .... And then I was surprised how he flew the branch away, did a lap, and went back to the nest with it to use it for nesting. Really incredible
i was fascinated to see how he was able to solve the problem with the stick: how to get it away from the top branch. he had tried to get that stick away for a few days by pulling it down. yesterday he tried first the ultimate pulling by hanging on the stick with all his weight. after doing that he realized that it would not work. only after a few minutes he did the opposite thing: he lifted the stick up and voilá: that worked! that was clever!

not all animals can do such 'reasoning'. next i'd like to see him using a tool, or even better than that: to make a tool and use it.

May 10

good morning!

it was a quiet night with some rain. birds began to sing at about half past 4 when it was still practically dark.
it was a foggy morning after the rain. i think it was still raining in the morning, too, at least at times.
6:32 two swans took off from the lake. one of them returned.

6:37 a swan flew away from the lake.

there can't be a swan's nest there. they couldn't leave eggs alone. :puzzled:

7:38 a swan took off from the lake and flew loops...
7:39:34 a swan flew by very near.

i don't know how many (if any!) swans returned to the lake in between these departures. take-off's are easier to notice than landings.

8:37:55 a male eagle called nearby. probably as a reply to ravens who have been talking nearby. probably Zorro.

...... then my stream froze for about 2 min. :bash:
(i need breakfast...)

edit:
i didn't see all!
8:37:about 15 ravens began to talk...
8:37:28 an eagle flew from left to right.

So, that's where they are now- just one glance - and he knows what to do.

I 'm really curious if he will return soon, and if so: will he bring something? A bunch of hay would come in handy ...
