What?

I see, it is Osprey Erika who has flied over Sahara to the west.

Black Storks are on their route to home.

I happened to find a photo of the Estonian Black Stork Oss, by Carsten Rohde ( I have asked permission to put his photos of Estonian BSs here, for one year ago about. Hope it is still ok! 8-)

It is just fantastic to find new photos of the Estonian Black Storks. He has been photographing them (them too e g) :bow:

for years. I don't know how many times there in Israel.

Estonian Black Stork "Oss" with satellite transmitter - wintering 2010/ 2011 in Israel near Tirat Tzvi.

I hope there will be a need for such, but it seems unlikely at the moment.

But there is hope, Jo! All black storks have moved on to spring migration according to Urmas' update March 12 on Birdmap .

I am afraid we'll have the third LSE cam instead of BS one. Anyway it depends on a)who is the first to land in the nest and b)whether Padis(or Toomas) find a mate.

Yes, most probable in BS nest will be breed LSE pair! At least before the migration they showed willingness to be back in spring. They decorated nest with fresh conifer twigs before leaving.

It will be clear within a few weeks, when the storks are back.

did i understand correct: the BS camera will be at the same nest as before but there will probably be new inhabitants, LSEs?

i really hope that the LSE couple returns there and breeds. it's rather depressing to watch an empty nest.... the only thing that is more depressing is wacthing a lonely bird calling for a mate in vain. :faint:

I am always looking for this cam and hope that it will be the right way with the black storks.
In Germany this stork is waiting for his wife since some days. Last year was the first that he and his wife had young ones alone in a very wide region.

As a last resort,I have been watching the White Stork nest on the Beleef site....on and off.
I could almost watch that vision from my kitchen window. :mrgreen:

Today amended the pictures and videos of past seasons. I miss the black stork (((
But I have joy: this year again, the camera works falcons on the roof, already sitting on eggs))) :loveshower:

. Last year tryanslyatsii was not, it's sad.
