these white points make it very easy to identify tiina.
it would be nice if we could find such a signification also for tiit.

From me, too, some pics of Tiina, yesterday the 22nd April. There is seen her eye decoration and the white spots close to the left shoulder, and perhaps something else too! ( yesterday I thought that I am adding too many pics here..)

Here in this picture her eyes are not wholly open her, I think.

Sometimes the white underfeathers on her neck, in front of it, are seen, too. Perhaps she has been fishing and the black feathers were wet..

I noticed the third difference - Tiina has a different shape of red mask - between eye and beak she has clearly visible tip of the triangle pointing upwards.

I am finding it easier to see the differences in the beaks.

Tiina to the stem. Now I saw it clearly and I have pictures, the eyes of Tiit are not connected to the red of the beak and with Tiina the red of the eye "goes" into the red of the beak, no black between it.

Yes JoUK, beaks is easier somewhat: Tiina's upper beak is all orange, while Tiit's beak is blackish in the middle.

Just refreshed my memory reading summary from year 2008

If I remember right first 3 eggs were not laid every morning.

Thank you, Bubo! Now I see that I had said Tiit to be Tiina on my previous post! I removed it from there! It is this, from yesterday. I took it after they had mated, and it was Tiina then who flew on the branch.

Here is video of a mating, also yesterday (I don't know the exact time of this mating) - hm.. anyway, on the video one can see very well their differencies.

Previously I had assumed the shape of the mask is important, but it probably depends on the emotional state of a stork. Now I think I've found good feature. Look at the photograph - on the left is Tiit, on right - Tiina. Of course, also need to watch the white spots on the Tiina's back.
