LODZ - WOODEK
very bed GT translation, later I do correction: "Nine over the Lowlands The vast lowlands stood over central Europe, spewed rain and kept our storks where they were. "Biały", which on 11 July we set up a transmitter in a nest in central Poland, still near the Tisza in northern Hungary, only 4 km from the place where 10 days ago fell "Green". In the rain it is impossible to fly and yesterday "White" moved at zeroing in the wet hinterland only 15 km, exactly the same as "Backpack" at the mouth of two Hungarian rivers with interesting names: Keresz (Solo: Körös) and Quick Keres (Solo: Sebes-Körös). Meanwhile, "Yellow" - the southernmost one - dialed the Romanian river Marusza less than 19 km yesterday. Birds are waiting for the sun, which will eventually bear them, first to Turkey, then to Africa (photo D. Anderwald)" (source https://goo.gl/Wm1wAq - FB BocianiMy)

 to all.

The weather in Hungary and Romania now is not that bad, so the storks will fly soon. I see the storks from Poland fly another way, not like Estonian and Latvian ones, who don't cross Hungary(they move through Ukraine directly to Romania). I wonder if they stay in Israel fish ponds too.

TY, Asteria. - And here you are able to see, that Malwin is tired ? ...

And TY, Solo, for Woodek's resting place the other day.
(It is a pity, that in Google maps are no pics anymore which point to the place, where they were done.
I always liked to pick those out.)

Malwin has died in Hungary.
It was eaten by wild boars.

TY macko - we know this fact, but not the reason   ... they wrote also: "...wildboars outbreak is causing serious problems for birds species living and breeding on the ground in wetlands." ... and that Woodek flew after few days to south along the river Tisza (or Tisa) near Csongrád (town in Csongrád County in southern Hungary) - https://goo.gl/1qLK5N

Hello all together

TY, Macko, for the link with the clearing up of Malwin's sad cause of death.

I also found a link of Bükki Nemzeti Park which was shared by Dariusz Anderwald.
There they show a picture of Woodek in the swamp :shake: what was taken by Seres Nándor, a collegue.

I tried to translate that Hungarian text by GT and got something completely senseless. :puzzled: I always thought boars eat oaks, vegetables, dig some roots etc. When it were wolfs or bears, it would be plausible but boars?.. Sounds very unlikely.

From Wikipedia:

The wild boar is a highly versatile omnivore, whose diversity in choice of food rivals that of humans.[31] Their foods can be divided into four categories:

Rhizomes, roots, tubers and bulbs, all of which are dug up throughout the year in the animal's whole range.[3]
Nuts, berries, and seeds, which are consumed when ripened and are dug up from the snow when abundant.[3]
Leaves, bark, twigs, and shoots, along with garbage.[3]
Earthworms, insects, mollusks, fish, rodents, insectivores, bird eggs, lizards, snakes, frogs, and carrion.

That only means that boars did not kill Malwin and he died for some other reason.
