There won’t be regular daily surveys but it is a good way to start with notes of what goes on.
The first morning visitor, as well as the last one yesterday evening, was the crows’ smaller relative, the jay. It must get there before the bigger and stronger ones arrive. Hooded crows and the wary ravens ruled the ground until nearly half past eleven, after that in company with a fox. Forum members recorded the episodes.

The fox’s tail showed signs of beginning mange. The fox from the day before yesterday had a very nice winter coat, so several “Brother Foxes” roam in the neighbourhood.
A little after noon the young white-tailed eagle already known to us arrived. Eagle, hooded crows, ravens and a pair of magpies were busy together.

Eagle voices could be heard in the camera view that had turned into a picture-book landscape, and as dusk fell raccoon dogs were waiting for their turn, revealing their presence nearby by calls.
