A more slender beak and a longer body than the wintering hooded crows have. Completely black plumage, but even so - a herald of spring. The first have been seen in east and south Estonia; there they nest in large colonies: in cemetries, parks, other areas with trees ... Nesting doesn’t start until April: it is said that seven weeks of winter arrive on the rook’s tail - it should be in the middle of April then. Let’s see how the predictions of the rooks, the "ploughing birds”, will fit!
