In the beginning of the week pikes in the Gulf of Finland were coming almost to the shoreline at the reedy shores of nortwestern Estonia, regardless of the falling water level. It was nearly +9 C in the water. The every-autumn feeding invasion happens at different times at different shores.
The average weight of ten caught fish was more than two and a half kilos, and taste was perfect.

Colours and patterning of pikes vary widely. Head and back – blackish-green. Flanks go from grey with a yellow tint to olive green. Throat and belly – yellowish white to greyish.
Female fish are noticeably larger, and their life span is longer
