Since autumn the great tit has a completely new outfit. The adult birds started their molting after the nesting and the changing of the plumage took over two months. Against the backdrop of white snow great tits now look fresh and clean, and there is nearly no way to tell the adult and the juvenile birds apart from their looks. Young and pretty once every year – homo sapiens may truly be somewhat envious.

 The black breast band of the males is generally a little broader, but it isn’t an infallible rule. Their weight is a little less than twenty grams. To fill out the menu the bark of trees is searched for insects hidden there.
