Let's give names to the buzzards chicks. It is very sad to watch the young chick desperately fighting for life. Maybe the name given to him will help him survive? (If what I wrote is completely stupid, then do not pay attention to my post!)
Yes, we can give them names. Although I doubt that it can save its life, I agree with naming.
I feel so sorry for the little one
I hope that people took him/her down and try to examine eye s condition, but I was naive as always 8-)

Thank you Lubaska! :hi: No one will interfere in the natural course of life of wild birds ... But I still pray for this little chick, he is a real fighter for life! :2thumbsup:

Yes, he is. But I must think about his chances to hunt if he survives. Vision is so important if one need to catch something. I think he will die of starving as soon as parents stop to feed him :(

Black Kite

Hi everyone :hi:

15.07 It has started to rain a little. Mom tries to cover all the big chicks

16.01 Golda brings food that looks like an insect. She feeds it to a chick. Before this she brought small things 3 times, I could not see what it was.

16.11 Golda keeps bringing them these little "snacks", almost once a minute. I really wonder what it is.

Zoomed pictures of the insects. Chicks seem to like them a lot.
Forgot to save the exact time stamps of the pics but they're from between 16.20 and 16.26.

16.31 Golda brings a strange food. Doesn't even look like an animal to me. :puzzled:

A processed human food? Or part of some carrion.

I saw on the website where they speak in Latvian that they named the chicks. The largest Bosiks and Kriksis the smallest.

Hi everyone, thanks for posting! :hi:

16.49 Grejs brings prey, a bird chick. Golda starts feeding the chicks right away.
Image

16.56 Feeding is almost over, they struggle with the last leg of the bird. All three try to swallow it but fail, until Golda takes it apart and smallie eats.
Image

16.57 Very well-behaved kids. (notice the color difference of the feet. The youngest has grey-ish feet while the others have more yellow. I don't know if it's just an age thing, or if one will look like dad and two like mom? )
Image

Golda brings small prey at 17.17, 17.19 and 17.28.

JUNE 13th

14:30 Mom (?) brought food and started feeding. Kids were sleeping when she arrived.

It's very windy and she wants to cover them but only one was able to go under her. The other two are too big.
