Thank you Liz!

Also today Bubo worshipped us.

20:14 he lands in the nest.
20:17 He sings from the beach into the forest.
20:18 He swings himself back into the darkness.

Maybe it is not a direct mating season.
Right, one does not speak of a courtship display either.

But when the animals return to their nest area after a long time and make sounds, is it a kind of will to demonstrate that they are interested in breeding and looking for partners?
I can't imagine that it's just a kind of territorial restriction. I think they would secure their territory all year round. Not only from the nest.
But I don't know.

When Bubo brings gifts it gets serious. :rotf:

I never stopped looking into the nest. Daily after random checks. A strangely quiet forest.
Except for rare nuthatches and squirrels I have never seen an animal and often it is spookily quiet.

It should be actually more visitors to see or hear? Almost all forests I know have more life.

Does anyone know more about the surroundings?

Polly, thank you very much for observing :2thumbsup:

Only that: You can find it on the yt channel
EURASIAN EAGLE-OWL
The nest of Eurasian Eagle-owl is located in Latvia in Kurzeme region. The nesting area is known since 1998, when the natural nesting place was found on the ground. After several unsuccessful nesting cases on the ground, the artificial nest was built in spruce, about 10 m in height. The nest is so big, that a grown man might curl in it!

From 2013 to 2017 breeding was successful. In 2018 breeding did not take place in this nest.

20:01 - 20:07 Bubo was here.

He leaves the nest suddenly.

Thanks Liz for the pictures.

Yes, I have already read the short description of the nest and the situation.
I would be interested to know if there are any problems with poaching, unusual traffic loads, large clearings etc. .
Unfortunately Google tells me nothing relevant about the area.
Only that there are organizers who offer hunting trips to Latvia. Many links and many providers.
And I have already asked here once in the thread whether there are possibly problems in the population of the eagle owls.

By the way.... you heard 18:46 (after my memory) also again shots. I read that in the Youtube-Chat.

Thank you for accompanying Bubo now! :2thumbsup:
Most of them don't watch actively until there's a brood.

And thank you very much that the camera is still running!

19:51:52 Bubo already started to call.

Polly, I do not think it's possible to know how many eagle owls live in the area. The typical eagle owl has an territory of 40 square kilometers.
I do not know how big the area is there. I hope, he will find a mate. Maybe he has already found one. who knows

Liz :hi:

I'm jealous of your sharp pictures.
At the moment I can't even see the time. Absolutely nothing. It is very blurred everything.
I haven't changed anything in the settings. :puzzled:

Many thanks and please keep giving us pictures! :2thumbsup:

Polly, Sometimes youtube changes the settings. That's why I have an extension that prevents that.

if you click on the gear, the adjustment options open. If your internet is slow or your pc or both  choose 750p. That's good for sharp pictures

Great, thanks!
I haven't had this gear for some time. Also the overall picture is different than usual. The chat is no longer visible and the option "Youtube mobile" on the bar above the camera image is also gone. But that is not so important. The chat I had anyway mostly switched off.

I am now in the settings and there I was offered 720p - hey, I can read the time again. :rotf:

Thanks Liz! :loveshower:

Hello to all!
Who does this live on the camera lens? At night (2.14–2.18, 3.07–3.28) he moves around, examines the living space. Spider?
