dear sova, thank you! :2thumbsup:
I will not document this visit any further. You did a great job. :)

I recorded the visit last night with many beautiful photos and notes until the end. Then there was a long phone call and I was no longer able to write here.

Briefly to complete:
Bubo came again after the raven visit from 18:53 to 19:06

Liz, thank you for the video and the nice pictures. Who knows how often we will have these wonderful moments with Bubo this spring. And whether the camera will be ready again for the next season ...? We enjoy every day.

Mamicja ... thanks again. I am happy about every unexpected participation! :2thumbsup:

Still this one photo ...
In my notes at this time it says: "Can a crow fit in the corner?"

A bit unbelievable. If I wrote yesterday that Bubo's calls are decreasing during the day, there is cinema all season today. :D Bubo ... defends his nest with sweet excitement but not aggressively. What makes the crow so playful and fearless? Is she a safe pilot during the day? Safe from Bubo?

Hello everyone and I hope you have a good day! :2thumbsup:
I haven't noticed any special events during the day. Let's see if Bubo still visits the nest today. :)

Thanks to all attentive helpers! :2thumbsup:

Hellem, yes! :2thumbsup:

A tired fighter. :)
Sometimes I felt like he was falling asleep on his calls. :innocent:
Bubo has a beautiful drawing. Typical Eagle owl this triangle but sometimes it is particularly noticeable.

Hellem, big thanks! :2thumbsup:
I was on duty for a long time and I was back this morning. Crazy right now.
I hope I can see Bubo again today. :)

His visits are getting shorter and shorter.

Bubo's morning visit today from 05:54 to 05:58.
(Greetings to the neighboring forum! Stay safe!) :)

Spooling was possible until 06:20.
Bubo's voice was right in my ear. :)

More short calls at 09:47, 10:07, 14:07 (clockwork  )
14:56:00 Bubo chuckles. His sounds sound like courtship sounds until about 14:56:24. Then more relaxed until '57.
15:32:13 howl of crows. Someone is angry. :whistling:
15:32:44 ... small plane? Motorcycle? Quad? Air traffic can be heard regularly, but I cannot interpret this engine noise.
16:45 Bubo calls.
16:46:40 a dull bang (shot)
18:17 - 18:23 Bubo calls energetically. I am even happier to hear it after the shot.
Then again 18:32 until he lands in the nest at 18:37.

Hellem :2thumbsup: :)

Visit from 18:37 to 18:55

Bubo lands on the nest edge and jumps straight into the nest. Plowing ritual, of course calling :) and ....

*say hello :)
Image

His calls sound deep and intimate ... .
18:39:14 Bubo raises his head, tightens and is interested in this direction.

Image

Now he calls brighter, louder.
18:40 Bubo stands in front of the nesting edge and calls into the distance.

*Visit? :)
Image

18:41:52 again the dull shot. Bubo leaves the nest 3 seconds later. He keeps calling, but keeps moving away from the nest.

His calls continue until 19:11.

18:43 - 44 Dogs
18:45:49 Shot, later the dogs again and then another shot at 18:56:23.

Bubo continues to call in the meantime. :D

:hi: Polly!

I've just dropped in (not for the first time) to say that I really appreciate the work you do in this thread  - and to say hello from "my" vultures

It's so disappointing to hear those shots, so often fired by people who (claim that they) love animals (so much that they just can't stop killing them)...

Marbzy :hi:
It is good to reflect the life of the animals as we can. These webcams are a gift.
Shots also worry me. Of course, hunting is part of it, but I wonder if, for example, the lively hunting tourism is not too much and that more is not removed than is good. Wild animals as pets (the internet is full of videos and offers :slap: ), shot and stuffed as trophies ... that makes me angry.
I do not want to make a judgment on this area in particular. I am too far away and hopefully there are enough people on site to deal with it. However, 24 Uhupa couples across Latvia speak their own language.

Back to Bubo. :)

March 29

During the whole night he didn't let himself be heard or seen.
The second half of the night was very stormy. 04:27:28 it sounded like a branch had broken somewhere.
06:53:32 the first call from Bubo. He calls until 06:57, but does not get into the nest.
