This is such great news! Thanks Fleur, for the raccoon dog, I loved them on the badger cam!
And what a view this is! Within 10 minutes I saw countless toads or frogs leisurely basking in the midnight sun :), one water vole (or nutria, or a muskrat) swimming fast along the edge and disappearing in the hole in the shore, and then - a beaver swum by! All with their eyes ghostly reflecting the IR light .

“Animals, like us, are living souls. They are not things. They are not objects. Neither are they human. Yet they mourn. They love. They dance. They suffer. They know the peaks and chasms of being.” (G. Kowalski) Caveat: Apart from this remarkable sentence I do not agree with his philosophies.

I think it might have been a mink.
I read that they are semi-aquatic, some spending more time in water than out. I saw one small dark furry animal a few minutes ago, walking on the opposite river bank. It then slid into the water and swum away, just like the one last last night.

A beaver came in from the right and just in front of the entrance to the lodge he did a mighty splash and dived. Then he came back and turned in front of the camera, looking around him as if to investigate what had given him such a fright.

Is this the same beaver lodge as the one we see on the Kobras webcam from the back - I think not, or is it?
