Good morning everybody!

6: 04-8: 07 Tönn and Tiiu fly in and out, bring twigs to the nest, carefully lay them. And they do not forget to show mutual love!


8:22 a marten came into the nest! (Crissy, sova, Liz01! Thanks for the wonderful photos and videos!)
Last year, Tiiu one night drove someone away from the nest when there were already eggs. Maybe then it was a marten?

It was the pine marten (Mates martes). Difference is in the white/yellowish marking on the front. The pine marten is more common in Estonia also.

brown nose.. a pine marten

The stone marten's throat is usually colored white and forked.
It's maroon and more round at the the pine marten.
However, there are coloring variants for both types, so that a reliable differentiation is not possible if you have not good pictures.
The nose- mirror is pink on the stone marten, and brown on the pine marten.

6.04-7.47 Tönn and Tiiu arrive and fly away, bring branches, build a nest.

7.58 Tönn arrived, he is in the nest and insistently calls Tiiu. But Tiiu did not respond and did not arrive.



8.13 Tönn flew away.
8.15 Tönn arrived, looking up. Tiiu's voice is heard.
8.17 Tiiu arrives and together with Tönn they fly to drive away the crow!
