Hello everyone!
There is damage to the camera cable..
Depending on the IT specialists' schedule, the repair is planned for next week.

The nest looks untouched. That's not a good sign.

Ugis Bergmanis said, that, perhaps, none of eagles woun't live in this nest, because the tree is getting dry. In such trees eagles do not use to live :(

Hello all :hi:

A message from Ugis Bergmanis on Dabasdati:

"Hello, Watchers! To conserve batteries and extend battery life in increasingly dimmable light, starting tomorrow, the camera will only run for one hour, if I'm not mistaken, from 12:00 to 13:00". (Latvian time)
Labdien, Vērotāji! Akumulatoru saudzēšanas un to darbības paildzināšanas nolūkā arvien sarūkošas gaismas apstākļos, sākot ar rītdienu, kamera darbosies tikai vienu stundu, ja nemaldos, no 12:00 līdz 13:00.

Marfo, I hope for a reanimation of Bubo's Nest every day. I look at a nest with no stream several times a day ... I know what that feels like. Because we know but at least we hope that there is life behind it. Or something new is created ... Or none of it at all?
This intangible uncertainty makes us sad. Well, we have to come to terms with that. Many cameras ran poorly or not at all this year. I would be interested in the reason, but you ... trust the animals. They will try to ensure their survival.

Preferably without a camera. :innocent:

It's the same as the years before. I've already got used to it.
Let's hope for sunny weather. I don't think that much will happen to this nest.

Polly, Bubo is the camera of Latvijas Dabas fonds. Golden Eagle Camera is LVM. I don't think that the Eurasien Eagle Owl camera will be reactivated.

Liz01, Polly, Black Swan, Marfo, Biker, Emotion ...

Many thanks for your updating.

My first love are ospreys, extremally beautiful as for me, since the spring 2015, when I started watching nests at all, of big birds, birds of prey. Sometimes I also watch bald eagles, white tailed eagles & so on, and as newly for me - in the last season albatrosess' pair on New Zealand and the princess Pippa vel Atawhai from the egg to her fledging, just exactly 2 months ago. And now other pair are working for the egg ...

Just by chance, thanks to @Lady Hawk, I got know this nest - in its worst time. It was so very heartbreaking to watch the sweet Klints passing away ...
It was so unhappy circumstances, Virsis dissapeared and young, unexperienced for-the-first-time mum Spilve had to be double parent in one.
I was full of admiration for her determination, she did all the best for Klints. Also her delicately behaviour to her baby Klints after s/he passed away was unusual and sooo very moving for me ...

It's so sad to look at Klints remains, s/he slowly is becoming a part ot of the nest. All had broken after Dad disappearig ... I know that's a rhytm of nature, but sad, cruel, unfair ...

One time after Klints passing away I read here, as some explanation, that it's area poor in food for them or ... poisoned with some heavy elements ... ? ... and now - the is tree getting dry ... ?

If that is thruth or not, I wish all the best for Spilve, she's an excellent, strong female. Very hard pained in the beginning of her adult life, but I deeply trust she is really strong.

I don't know anything about golden eagles, that's my first their nest. Do they migrate somewhere for wintering to warmer countries, or leave their nests for winter only still keeping the area near by ... ?

Spilve, sweetheart, I wish you to meet soon the same wonerful male as you are ! You are worth of that ! Have many strong, healthy and brave chicks in the future !!! :bounce:
You have my crossing fingers for that and for always, even if we never meet again in this nest or other !!! :2thumbsup:

P.S. @Liz01
I'm watching your yt channel since many years, thank you very much for your great job !
Stay well and healthy in this hard covid-time !!!
And all you here, as well ! :shake:

SilverGirl :hi:
Your very welcome, my pleasure

There are not many webcams on golden eagles nests. This is the only GE cam in Latvia and there was one in Estonia this year too. And I believe in Finland. This eagle species has not been filmed much.
Golden eagles do not migrate to warmer countries in winter, they stay here.
Hard to say if we will see beautiful Spilve again, most likely she will find a new mate with a nest somewhere else. There are not many GE's in Latvia. But you never know...maybe she visits this nest sometime again. Let's hope so

By the way, as you may have noticed the camera runs from 12:00 till 14:00h and not till 13:00h as Ugis earlier wrote.
It is not running now (12:16) so maybe there is a problem again. Let's hope not, it's not the best time to go to the bog now.

December 8th

Silvergirl, you're welcome :D I'm very happy that you like my channel
Stay well and healthy too, in this covid-time :2thumbsup:

The nest looks untouched .. there will be no new season. As I suspected it was Virsis nest. Spilve will find another mate in another area.

the camera worked for 1 hour 12:00 -12:59 - I think it works as long as the battery has enough charge. That can be 1 hour, or 2!
2 & 3.12.2020 much snow :D
