Anything else ...

I mentioned her peculiarity of touching the side branch again briefly when leaving the nest.
I don't know why she does it, but H21 does it a lot.

In the video from a change today:

14:36:18 H21 gets up, calls.
H44 answers directly from the premises. :innocent:
14:36:33 H21 leaves the nest again via the side branch and again by tapping the branch.

14:37:25 H44 takes over

14:45:54 H21 comes back and brings flowers ... :whistling:

14:46:33 H44 leaves the nest
"Throw your heart across the river and swim after it."

Another change

18:38:01 H21 stands at the edge of the nest and calls
18:38:29 she leaves the nest

18:40:54 H44 was dawdling. He sneaks through the page check.
But when I see his harvest, I have a clue. The young man dined like a prince and seems a bit sluggish.

May 13th

:hi:

04:38:00 H21 gets up, loosens her feathers and stretches.
04:51:18 H44 can be heard from
04:51:53 H21 will now be able to leave the nest calmly. She gets up, announces her intention and leaves the nest 52:05. Again with the short touchdown on the side branch. :whistling: Call again.

04:53:00 H44 takes over and confirms loudly.

05:13:35
05:14:11 H21 calls

05:14:49 H21 crashes through the small entrance on H44.

05:15:14 H44 leaves the nest.

05:58:46 - 50 H44 calls in the area
05:59:14 - 22 Now H21 out of the nest

06:10:54 3 minute morning concert of many residents and guests of the territory.
Above all our H's, Jay and an excited H21.

There was tension in the air, but I couldn't find the cause.
Our birds know more.

07:03:54 H21 excitedly greets H44.
07:04:25 It flutters out over the branch again.

07:04:54 She's excited to hear it
Ah, H21 and the crows ... the daily talk show.
What a nagging ...

H44 was just a bit dreamy. :innocent:
Image
...
But then ...
07:29:39 - 46 a crack and the loud voice of H21 can be heard.
She gets excited again.
07:30:00 - 03 calls
07:30:45 'Gjak', 47-50 calls
07:30:56 - 31:03 H21 is sitting there somewhere very close and is very upset.

H44 looks a bit confused.
He probably can't understand the excitement. 8-)

In fact, H21 seems to be much more excited off-road in general. She often yells annoyed when she's outside - that's rarely the case with H44. A relaxed male .....

But further:
H21 does not rest
07:31:44 - 50
07:32:00 - 04

07:33:01 - 09 This call sounded strange at first, but suggests that H21 is still in trouble.
In the meantime she is further away from the nest again.

"Throw your heart across the river and swim after it."

07:34:43 H21 comes back to the nest.
It seems to me that her outburst of anger resulted in her plucking half the property. :rotf:
In any case, the branch she brings is considerable.

Image

H44 chirps to her dearly. H21 buries itself quickly on the eggs and H44 leaves it at 07:35:29, calls again.

08:24:13 H44 announces his arrival and H21 responds immediately with her drawn-out call.
While H44 stops at the edge of the nest, H21 doesn't move a bit. She doesn't even look at him, but keeps calling, begging. Quietly ...

He approaches her but it stays that way - H44 waiting and H21 lying firmly on the eggs.
Image

H44 becomes aware of something. Something behind the camera.
08:26:01 H44 falls down at the side entrance.

Crows gargle away ....

08:26:49 - 53 H44 can be heard

... the woodpecker is drumming. :innocent:

Again calls from H44
08:27:20 - 24
08:28:54 - 57
08:37:33 - 36
08:49:47 - 49, '56, '58

H21 nervously cranks his head.

Today something / someone actually seems to be annoying. :dunno:

08:59:16 H44 announces itself and is received with words by H21.

H21 begs to him ...

... gets attention :innocent:
Image

Both change places.
H21 remains for a few moments, loosens its feathers, stretches.

09:01:50 She comes back to H44, lifts his wing and tells him to stand up. She raises her voice.

Image

The woodpecker seems to be very close. He comments on the event with a croak.

09:02:37 H44 gets up again and lets H21 back on the balls.
Nevertheless, she continues to beg him.

09:03:36 H44 leaves the nest again.

12:54:04 H21 starts to call out begging.
She gets up, goes to the nest beach ...

12:54:40 H44 can be heard ... he calls softly.
Now H21 flutters to the side branch and finally flies off-road.
She gives the sign to H44 ...

Image

12:55:05 H44 takes over and calls

H21 can be heard often again in the following period
13:01:06 - 10, 32 - 37, 44 - 49
13:02:02 - 09, 24 - 29, 40 - 46, 50 - 52
13:02:56 - 03:03

13:05:18 A rarely silent arrival in the nest of H21.
The handover was short and H44 leaves the nest at 13:06:27 through the small entrance. Follow calls.

13:35:50 H44 surprises H21 in the nest. She was just loosening the nest bowl.

Uih ... there was a similar moment last year with Boka and Lui. Boka was sitting when Lujis approached her without shouting. She hissed at him. 8-)

H21 quickly grasped the situation, continued fiddling and began to beg.

It really sounds like 'whining' ...
H44 seems a little helpless.

13:38:03 he leaves the nest through the side door.

"Throw your heart across the river and swim after it."

16:43:13 - 17 H44 is a bit excited to hear.

Further
13:48:02 - 04

Crows gargle ...

16:50:12 14
16: 51: 45/46 duet of the top dogs H44 / crow

Well, not only H21 is currently waiting for H44 ...

It will be okay. At least it was still heard in the afternoon.

Let's see tomorrow morning ... :innocent:

Okay, the nightgown has to wait ... there was still a change.

21:29:43 - 50 H21 calls plaintively and now H44 answers.
H21 uses the sign, gets up and leaves the nest.

Image

21:31:38 H44 takes over, calls.
H21 confirms its reputation from the premises.

21:57:48 - 52 H21 calls in the area and pulls H44 out of his nap.
Image

She seems to be enjoying her evening outing while I longingly kneaded my nightgown.

22:02:05 H21 returns for the night. She brings a green branch with her.

22:02:15 H44 leaves the nest.

May 14th

:hi:

04:13:12 His head in the feathers ... H21 gets up, loosens the nest floor and lies down again.
04:15 again

04:46:53 H44 flutters into the nest.
Very quick change. H21 stands up straight away and leaves the nest via the side branch. No reputation.

H44 now also seems to be beginning to shed feathers. It looks slightly plucked. :innocent:
Image

05: 41: 30/31 H21 lands in the tree, calls briefly (cannot be seen).
05: 41: 59/42: 00 call H21
05: 42: 08/09 Cracking - H21 changes position and seems to leave the tree again.
42:24 'Gjak' now more distant
05:42:58 Another crack - H21 is back.
43:00 She is chirping on the lower floor, can also be seen from 43:20.

05:43:26 she jumps into the nest.
Another very quick change.
05:43:35 H44 leaves the nest.
"Throw your heart across the river and swim after it."

06: 27/28 Woodpecker and Jay are already active.

06: 28: 31/32, 36/37 far away a goshawk can be heard. H44?

06:41:56 H44 announces itself and is received by H21. It sounds plaintive again ... but what can only be a pure contact / bond call? Difficult to know or to describe.
Image

She gets up, fiddles in the nest bowl while H44 lingers on the edge of the nest as if firmly rooted.
Image

Right - H21 doesn't want to change and H44 leaves the nest again at 06:43:48

07:51:09 Check ckeck
H44 lands on the side branch.
Image

H21 gets up, starts to be busy with the nest floor. Both H's chirp to each other.

07:51:51 H44 now jumps over to H21 in the nest.
He stays next to her while she continues fiddling and begging.
Image

07:53:12 H44 leaves the nest again. No call follows.

Unfortunately, I am unable to rewind and report today. Worked longer and the alarm clock will ring again.

Please, if you are interested, have a look at the neighboring forum!

Our H's have finally found a stable observer there too!
Sandra L. is always up to date - she doesn't dawdle like me. :2thumbsup:

Sandra, thank you and best regards! :innocent:

May 16th

:hi:

03:58:27 It's still dark but the eggs are easy to see.
H21 appears to be changing positions. Soon afterwards she is lying again.

04:44:18 - 23 H44 can be heard.

04:44:36 - 38 H21 answers without a voice. She opens her beak ... the movements like during a call, but nobody comes.
04:44:45 - 35 now. H21 calls softly. :innocent:

04:47:41 H44 announces itself and sits down on the upper branch.
H21 starts calling ... H44 continues chirping.

H21 gets up and flies out of the nest with her often used stopover over the side branch.
04:48:19 H44 jumps down into the nest.

05:12:16 - 20 H21 calls in the area

05:14 idle time for H44 :innocent:
Image

05:16:22 - 27 H21 calls

05:17:01 - 04 The talk show with the usual guests begins.

05:17:23 - 27, 41 - 46, 49 - 53, 18:03 - 06 H21 has the floor. 8-)
05:18:17 - 25 She gets angry and you can hear her calling out in flight.
The crows hold back.

05:19:35 H21 lands audibly in the tree, calling until '37.
05:20:16 ... a rather quieter tone from her.
Also in '25, '31, '41 - but here she gets more excited again.
05:21:00, '23, '29 calmer again. H21 is still in the tree.

05:21:34 It cracks and H21 flutters through the small entrance into the nest.

Both chirp .... :innocent:

05:22:47 H44 leaves the nest. There is no call.

The annoyed H21 and 2nd change
