16:50:56 - 51:15 Both H's communicate gently.
16:51:39/40
16:52:09 - 12

:innocent:

16:52:53 'Gjak'
16:52:55 H44 flies into the nest, H21 calls from nearby He fiddles with something, flies onto the upper branch.

H44 wears his tail feather very sportily today.

16:58:19 A goshawk flies away close to the ground
16:59:59 - 17:00:03 calls close
17:02:06 below the nest does a goshawk change position or fly into it? He can be seen briefly. There seem to be branches there too.

17:03:24 H21 comes into the nest with prey.

Image

Image

17:04:29 She switches to the side branch.

(also: 17:02:06 the Goshawk below the nest)

H21 has to struggle a little with the wind, and changes the branch in between.
17:27:57 It flies down and leaves the prey behind.
It is now also starting to snow.

Image

It reminds me of the last late autumn. A goshawk left food and took it out from under the blanket of snow the next morning.

17:54:37 - 46 While the dinner continues to snow in, there is a soft call from nearby.

19:03:07 - 14 There are calls from the lower floor.
H21 hops one floor higher.

(Arrival and situation 19:07)

Image
(She is strong :innocent: )

She will be here for a long time to eat ...
Sometimes she is a little nervous - the girl is very attentive.
19:07:13 H21 looks to the left. Something arouses their mindfulness.
19:07:27 You can hear sounds that I can't define ... crows gargle. H21 is receiving the highest attention.
19:07:41 She looks down and follows something in motion with her eyes. She calls until '47. An answer comes from afar.
H21 seems calmed down and continues to eat from 19:08:00.

Image

19:46:41 H21 jumps onto the side branch, rubs her beak with pleasure. She climbs up piece by piece.

Image

19:52:25 - 33 H21 calls.

H21 has been here for over an hour ... she's still sitting up in the tree.

20:09:26
Image

20:21:18 crows nagging ...
20:21:21 H21 is calling too

20:21:45 - 22:00 calls
20:22:08 She flies to the lower part of the group of trees on the left, calls more quietly.

More calls 20:22:44 - 55 20:23:17-20, 30-40, '57 20:24:00 - 08, '18, '37, '39, 41 - 50, '53
... actually constant.

I only hear one of them. :puzzled:

edit:
both are there.
20:34:15 - 42 pairing (felt the longest so far)

20:42:'48, '52 'Gjak'

April 6th

Emiliano, thank you so much for your timestamps. :2thumbsup:
This week until Saturday I can only follow the camera from the afternoon onwards.)

I have the camera on now and will follow and wind. It's comforting to read that the H's are still present. Thanks for that! :innocent:
The nest could still need restoration. :whistling:

07:25 - 34 The nest tree was stormed by crows.

There's a lot of air traffic, clapping wings ... nagging and gurgling. I am sure (almost) to see hawks in between. However, just analyzing and documenting this situation in detail would blow my evening away.
07:32:24 Short call Goshawk (sounded a bit muffled)
07:32:48 new short alarm wave when two birds fly away.
07:34:36 A bird flies down to the right.

07:36 The crows don't rest ... it almost bangs in the tree. :slap: They are angry.

07:39:40 The stream jumps
Not so bad this time - it was just crows nagging.

11:04 The crow comes with buddy ...

They shout, clap their wings and they even shake the camera.

Image

11:08 She's back already.
Also hops through the nest, but leaves the remains of the prey lying around.

It seems to me that these crows are not looking for food like eggs but whole nests.
Well, crows may destroy other (larger birds) eggs not for food but to regulate enemies? Can that be an option? The thought just occurred to me spontaneously. :puzzled:

11:10 Two crows
One on the side branch, the other plucking in the nest.

Image

11:12: 01/02, '15, 54 - 57 Meanwhile, the calls of a Goshawk removed.

11:50 Where are our two H's ??? Let the crows go.

I'm wandering to Emiliano's next timestamp ... I need something nice now. :D
I see that there is nothing left of the last prey. The crow apparently took everything.

Already before 13:09:03 Goshawk starts calling. It sounds wide.
But ... 13:09:10 In the slow-motion video you can see the Goshawk flying towards the tree from far behind on the left. It takes a strange turn before 'clapping' into the tree.

Slower

He calls until 13:09:20.

13:09:40 - 47 Nice to hear him

13:15:10 - 18 Does that sound a little excited, angry? Or demanding?

13:16:57 there is a rustling
13:18:54 - 06 He leaves the branch and also calls near the tree
Yes, he changes and calls. :innocent:

The crows are close too.

13: 23: 24/25 a quiet 'double gjak' with voice changer. Then call until '33.

Ha, those crows also play along.
There is a new challenge here every day. Not a straight line from pairing to the egg. :dunno:

I watch this nest so intensely that I miss the fast-forward button more every day in the future. :rotf:

13:51:30 - 33
13: 52: '25
13:53:19 - 22
13:59:08 - 10 calls

The calls are approaching
13:59:20 A goshawk lands in the branch. I can't read the ring, so anyone can.
He calls.
The Jay joins in.

I hope he won't mind the neighborhood with his predator. I grew fond of the jay (the cat). :innocent:
For newcomers - Goshawks are definitely neighbors with birds that are otherwise on their menu. There seems to be a win-win concept.

To the happening ...
14:01:45 - 51 He calls
14:02:24 and away.

14:04:52 'Gjak' :innocent:
14:04:57 - 05:02 calls
14:09:37 A bird lands in a tree and crows document it. :D

14:10:02 - 05 A goshawk can be heard in the distance
Well, then I'm not sure ... the wind is whistling in my headphones. But I think I hear soft short calls in between.
In between you can also hear a crack in the tree.
Also 14:26:07 - 15 tender calls, close

14:26:34 'Gjak'

Crows and Goshawk 14:30:29 - 34 Jay joins in. :D

It's an unfriendly wind.
Weather like at home ... but we have more hail showers.

15:17:03 - 07 calls, excited
15:17:48 - 54 series of 'Gjak'
Then call until 15:18:01
15:18:16 cracking
15:18:47 - 55 calls
15:19:04 - 15 'Gjak' turns into quick calls
15:19:31 - 39 too 15:19:50 - 20:16 different calls ... quickly, 'Gjak' and hint of pairing

15:22:33 - 49 mating! :loveshower:

16:02:09 A crack
16:02:16 H44 visits the nest

Meanwhile, H21 also calls.

Image

16:02:47 H44 leaves the nest like a rocket.

16:04:26, 16:05:01 to hear nice calls

Hm, unfortunately H21 is completely inactive.
And there is hardly any construction of the nest. But let's wait and see. Maybe it's normal behavior ... the couple is young. Not just in old age. :innocent:

Both are present ... that's wonderful! :loveshower:
