13:35 OGK was here :2thumbsup:

Info by Sharyn Broni (DOC Ranger) She was there too!
Unfortunately, at this time of year, taking OGK out of action for any treatment would mean he would not be feeding his chick. The leg is healing, although it is not right yet. The landings needed to come and feed his chick will not be helping the healing process, but time on the ocean will.
OGK is walking ok, no obvious injury, no issue with the bands, however the joint above the bands is clearly weakened.
The area is not red like it had been so I believe any infection will be healing up. There is no sign of external injury so more than likely it was caused by a strain.

Sharyn is checking on OGK's leg

Liz :hi:

I saw a video by Lady Hawk.
OGK, Dad, came the 4th day (July 12th) in a row and unfortunately he is limping again, his leg is red and swollen again.
YRK, Mom, was not seen since July1st.

Fingers crossed, that YRK is ok and can come back soon.
And fingers crossed, that OGK's leg will soon heal completely, when he can fly a few days long without walking on it.

EDIT: Today, July 13th, OGK came the 5th day in a row to feed Pippa. He is walking better than the day before.

Águila calzada. Eagle nest with two chicks. I think it is the same nest where last year one of two eaglets died.

August 18

Hi everyone! Hi sova :hi:

I watched Pippa and parents every day and I also have done videos from the feedings, wing exercises and she lifted up three times. I feared that she would fly away before she got her rings. :rotf:

Feeding by OGK (he was not here for a few days)

Today she gets her rings .
Thank you Colin, Jim and Sharyn! that was really great to watch!
Stainless steel band first. then super glue for the green plastic band (like her Dad)
It's now her juvenile ring. A few years later she will get her adult rings
