I tried to post a reply to her video, with links to the website and this forum, but when I tried to post the comment, the box grayed out and would not post. Then I tried without the links - but that did not work either .Or maybe I have posted 6 times now!!Jo UK wrote:Great. Thanks to Soph9!

Tawny Owl webcam is installed in Matsalu National Park, within the Bird of the Year 2009 project.
Main constructor of that webcam system is Aivar - I suggested him to register in forum and write some comments about. Hope he will do!
Soon will be information about this webcam also in Bird of the Year website. Hopefully also in English.

About 10 minutes ago there was a typical calling-sound of another owl (partner?)
(that 'blowing' sound )
@@ she looks constantly UP insteat of going to sleep, is she expecting someone?
(or is it my hope that she does? )

Hi, little bit of information from Mr Looduskalender - nest is mostly empty now but it's normal. If mating is successful then we'll see it much more of course; eggs should be laid in the end of February.
Let's cross our fingers:)

Yes, let's do that, it would be fantastic to see all the fases of love, eggs, chickens and feeding.yarko wrote:Hi, little bit of information from Mr Looduskalender - nest is mostly empty now but it's normal. BTW around march the webcams off the Dutch birdprotection will be open again, there we can see the nests of; Falco peregrinus, apis-apis, Falco tinnunculus, Athena Noctua and Alcedo atthis.
It's wonderful to watch, from the first day they meet, until the young-ones leave the nest.

Various Tawny owl calls here http://www.eoy.ee/kodukakk/kodukakk/kodukakk on the EOÜ Tawny owl homepage.
Scroll down quite a bit to heading 'Häälitsused' - see PrintScreen below.
Calls in this order: male's territory call; undulating hu-hu-hu, more unusual; male & femals wooing calls before mating; male wooing call + male & female calls to each other to approach; excited/angry; foodbegging chicks in nest; fledglings' food begging

The little sounds (s)he made yesterday afternoon I can't remember exactly, I think it's like the 3th one (?)
Tomorrow it sounded more like blowing as a mad cat (you know what I mean? )
