It is very sad that they seem to care more about Woodek's transmitter than about the reasons of his death. BTW in Estonia one of the tagged storks was saved due to his transmitter.

Two hours ago in Puszcza Notechka all the three storklets got scared and flew away from a WTE with an ill leg. Now the nest is still empty.

Thankfully, the three juveniles are all already fledglings. but I'm in worry about the WTE. The injury looks very serious.

his foot is twisted but when he tried to walk his claw opens and close - although he (seemingly due to pain) of course held it's foot up .

I know an american bald eagle. A female -Berry College. She has a similarly bad injury. she has been living with it for years. She can hunt, bring nest material to the nest and she has chicks every year. This year the bad weather has paid tribute. Both chicks died.

The chicks are now completely black. They were ringed and got leg transmitters(the same as Woodek and other storklets from his nest).

HU, Gemenc
18 ha forest area, usually 35 pairs, this year 28 nesting pairs:
(GT) However, the cool, rainy weather in May did not favor hatching chicks, and several nestlings were ruined by then, and in a number of nests, due to long-term food shortages, additional chicks, or even complete nestlings, were destroyed.
result: only 14 young BS from 16 nests
