that solve not the problem with big gap (the older chick/s ate more than the younger/s and they have not enough usually)

Well, we can only watch. It's not easy, it's natural laws.
We will see.

Good evening together, hello
Solo!
Welcome back!
I hope after reading back all the events you are content with our all “work” (of course mostly Liz') in the days of your absence. ;-) I've just tried to help a little bit, but can do it only on days when I have not to work.
Thank you,
Liz and
UteL., for your answers to my question. Two different statements, - o.k.
But it is anyway obsolete, as the crack apparently isn’t one.
With the eggs and the question, if there are cracks or not, I admit, I can follow the development not completely anymore. There are meanwhile too many postings to read back again. Wasn’t there a crack in the egg with the two dark points, balistar has seen on May 1th? What’s about this crack? Obviously it is not seen again, respectively – most likely – the crack hasn’t become bigger. That’s a pity.
As I’ve seen in many pictures today, there is an egg with many dark points – almost like a colander. I hope, the storklet inside can manage it to break the shell. Although I know, it will be hard for the little – smallest – one to survive against the older ones. But it surely lives and it has a chance!
Good night all!

Good Morning Solo and Michi and all
Solo, thank you for Pictures and Reporting.
In my opinion, it is better if there are no other chicks. It is already lack of food !
There may be hatch intervals up to 6 days. That would end not good. That's no pessimism! From the first day I see that something is wrong with the food supply. They need food approx every two hours.
Should it take a long time, the youngest will have no chance. The small fish are only available for a short time.
There are reasons why they raise their chicks in the spring. This includes the availability of suitable food. As I could observe, it is already very difficult.
I do not know what it should help, if two chick hatch at one day. .

it must be enough food - it is riparian forest and the population here is the largest density of black stork in the world (40 pairs)

yes, it is also my opinion
problem is probably "only" with very long change period all time (also when they incubating)

.....
I know that it is a good area. But the weather was totally crazy at the beginning. There was no spring. This has an influence on food availability.

There has to be a reason for that. They usually come to the nest when they have found food. We will not know what the reason is - too bad!
