ok. I found it fascinating to see him.
So young, so much remains to make flying hours, and lots of exercise at high altitude to come I think.
the parents had a nest nearby?

Fleur, see page 1 here. Its all explained about the BS and GV sharing/not sharing the same rocky ledge or another higher up.

Fleur, as I told you just before, go and check page 47 where fireblade put some pics and I explained where the nests are.
The platform just in front where the young GV was yesterday is not his nest: it is "owned" by a Ruppell's vulture but as he is the only one in there he doesn't have a mate.
The nest of the GV this year is behind that whiter small platform (there are also some fireblade pics with the GV in there) where you saw lots of birds coming and going (these birds are either delichon urbicum, either apus apus, there are plenty of them at Portas de Ródão). The GV did his first flight on the 12th, very early in the morning.
In the midle left of the pic, facing the river, and with a tree and some bushes, it is the nest where we saw 2 years ago the all "cycle" of a GV family, since the egg until the young went away. In the bottom left there is the nest of the BS where this young GV spent 2 nights 2 days ago.
By the way, over the cam there are still lots of rocks and several GV nests, very very high (around 150 meters above the river).
If you see the videos that are under the image, from the back to the front, and then the videos that are here http://zappiens.pt/lista_videos.php?id=147&pagina=3, also from the back to the front you can see how life is so interesting in this place (butterflies and WS are in a different place)

ok, I'll try to get a good read and understand everything.
'm Not familiar with this bird, let alone how they live etc.
I will do my best
They have some links in English in the end of the page
I saved the link, and I just looked, a lot of information. Thank you.
As I read, then fly the boy to Africa or Sahara in autumn
Hm, I will read better.
I surf with Google Chrome, which translates it for me

The same like yesterday. The youngster is sitting there, head down, in the direction to the nesting platform.
Now he seems to be ready for a take-off

Hi fireblade1
The youngster arrived there yesterday morning and spent there all day and night! The parents went there to give him food twice yesterday.
He just left
