I am not new to this nest but just registered to discuss some observations with You. I am from Austria. I just realized how good sound is. Last night was a great show of Woodcock and I notet at 01:01 Eagle Owl... /---/
Hello :hi: Welcome, and thank you for the observation!
Do you happen to know who made this racket around 5.14 am (besides a cuckoo and I guess a roe deer)?
I am watching and listening for fun and perhaps for longing for a more 'naturalistic' lifestyle, but my knowledge is rather poor.

He landed on the meadow 10.05 and took off 10.08. So, three minutes to collect this bunch. Considering that he was panting upon arrival, it must have been a hard work.

10:15 Eerik on nest. Straw floating in the wind and a white feather on his right head side...
Last NIGHT: the very deep vocalisation (mammal) I do not know. Do You have elkes in national park?
I suppose one bird (Eerik ?) was sitting on the cut branch with the camera / or microphon covered inside? These rattling breathing / heart sounds were interesting. Is there a continuus recording available? Could fit in a soundscape ecology setting.

This morning arount 08:00 the most intense (rival) Tree pipit song I heard.

Thank you. Yes, elks are around. We have spotted them several times on the meadow.

10.58 an elk appears. No, actually two of them between the trees.

11.00 one of the elks lies down.
The other elk lingers farther between the trees.
11.12 the second elk came and joined the resting one :D
