After I have not had much time to watch the eagles I have been very lucky this morning.
First, the chick was alone in the nest but I heard at least one parent not too far away. Then the camera was shaken a few times and the little one seemed pretty nervous...

The chick made rather quiet sounds for a while...
Then dad made a jump to the nest. The chick seemed to beg for food.
And daddy the magician had a look:

... in the private fridge...

... and got out a little snack (everything around 3:35-3:46)

There you are big little one


Now after about 11 minutes the have almost finished the fish.

08:45-08:55 All quiet and whole family in the nest tree. Sulev is sitting on a branch behind the tree trunk. Suvi is sitting somewhere behind the cam and to the left. Her shadow just happens to be visible on the front side of tree trunk. Most of the time she is preening like the others.

Thank you, Ivory. Sulev, the Great Magician, might go on a tour with this trick!

After PS-ing Eaglet likes to wing-flap a bit, but whacks Sulev on the head, several times.


Sulev chooses a safer place to sit.

14:30 The fish is gone and they both are full, Sulev cleaned his beak and jumped to the left branch

Greeting Suvi (or calling alarm, the difference is very hard to tell) who arrives at the nest

Sulev brings a fish and starts feeding

17:37 Sulev landed with a very alive flapping fish , he started eating and feeding
17:44 The eaglet isn't interested for more, it pooped and left the table

19:51 Suvi landed, she brought a spruce twig

19:53 And then landed Sulev with a HUGE monster fish ,
19:54 Sulev flew away

20:25 What a idyll, a huge fish, Suvi is preening, the eaglet enjoys sunset and nobody is interested in eating or feeding

2 fish in the nest, Suvi fed the eaglet half a fish. When she finished, Sulev jumped to the nest from left branch and started to crunch unzipped fish. I am sure he was hungry and wanted to eat himself. Suvi came closer to him in a minute and they had a "conversation", then Sulev jumped on the side and later left the nest.

It is a mysterious behavior for me. Does she say to him not to touch the fish and leave it as it is? Is it her instinct that tries to save as much food as possible? What do these signals mean?

He is a fantastic food provider and even better feeder and caring parent. I wish I could understand birds speech and know what she said to him.

We have watched this very often. Sulev even tried to feed Suvi, she did not want it.
